I can’t put my finger on why it didn’t light my fire! Maybe it was a little predictable? I did like it but not as much as I wish I did 🥲

Also I need someone to delete all the social media on my phone so I actually read and not just scroll!!! I’m two books behind on my goal and it feels like a chore what is wrong with me!!!

The beginning with the flashback of them meeting on the balcony got me excited for their book. But just went flat from there. For an enemy to lovers type of idea I personally felt like they had no chemistry or tension during the enemies part. I felt like I was just reading about their daily tasks/crafting for three quarters of the book haha. So when the spice/relationship finally came I just couldn’t connect to the characters. And the fact that there was next to no thriller parts regarding the man out for revenge (or even their search for him through Lachlan’s boss’s resources) for most of the book was an odd choice considering the theme 🥲. Then wham bam he comes out at the end and it resolves very quickly and predictably was just 😑. All in all I just found it very boring and predictable.

I wish it would’ve been most of the book with needing to find the FMC and trying to get her back or something… and like Bri said I want more ENEMY with tension in the enemy to lovers LOL it was a fun read though just didn’t tickle the itch!!

but i agree Leather and Lark had its fun moments for sure but definitely didn’t feel as fun and fast paced as the first one! agreed on the balcony scene bri!

I read The Love Hypothesis by her, Jes! I loved it, it’s more rom com and inspired by a Kylo Ren and Rey fanfiction but doesn’t have any syfy or fantasy aspects! Definitely one I couldn’t put down, had me squealing like I was in middle school with a crush LOL. I definitely plan to read more of her books!

the HOFAS event was super fine! a local indie book shop had it at a local brewery and did trivia and crafts, 10/10 had the best time!
