I have a recreational love of space/physics so I thought i'd read Hawking's famous book for nonfiction week.

Finished this and thought it was a great background of physics for average people. Would definitely recommend!
I read the Briefer History of Time - mostly because it was a later, updated edition containing string theory as well. This is a great book and explains difficult concepts clearly. It is also quite philosophical - what is really time and space? What is the role of God? Does the universe have a beginning and an end, and how do you define it? This is a must read in my opinion even for those who don't read science books.
