Hahaha, no, I'd much rather stay in "the room" than walk away. "The Room" is so much more entertaining than the bland dino-less parking lot outside.

Lance Morcan | 3058 comments Open letter to fellow Undergrounders:

We pride ourselves on this being a no-rules group that champions freedom of speech. However…

Recent posts by PatEye (aka aka The "Committee" of Writers) tested our patience too much and we reached the end of our tether. We also had to delete many of his most recent posts as he was getting more and more abusive towards us and others.

PatEye, incidentally, is an author who has been blocked several times by Goodreads as a result of complaints about him by Goodreads members and no longer has an author profile as a result.

So, in the interests of a group that is not dominated by one person's repetitive abuse and non-sensical ramblings, we regrettably had to block PatEye from the group.

Please no! I think much of what PatEye says is in jest and can be mistaken when he is having a bad night. I have always found him to be a funny, warm and lovable character. I, for one, love to read his posts especially the ones I understand. He is a colorful character and this wonderful discussion group can always do with a colorful character so we don't get too impressed with our own offerings. I am discovering a lot here but it is nice to get some relief from gloom.

You didn't see the worst of it, Laureen, we had to delete a lot of the more abusive posts as we wanted to shelter you and other members from how ugly his posts got. But trust me, this guy was not going to ever stop and blocking such abusers is the only way to go.

Janith Pathirage (pathirage) | 135 comments If we've come to an understanding regarding Dinos.. then why not discuss about the extinction of ancient mega mammals who took the place of dinos ??. Saber-toothed tiger, Short-faced bear, Giant sloth.. etc. They all ruled the planet for millions of years and vanished into thin air.. What happened to these guys ?

message 664: by Janith (last edited Jun 04, 2015 10:42PM) (new)

Janith Pathirage (pathirage) | 135 comments And I'm really curious to know what happened to Megalania, the giant butcher. Mammals ruled everywhere else on earth except Australia. There, the apex predator was a 40 feet long giant lizard, the biggest reptilian carnivore walked this earth since T-Rex. Anybody from Australia ? I need answers :D

Matt, I've also heard of such sightings but not sure if they were true. Monitor lizards can grow up to 9-10 feet easily but we're talking about a 30-40 feet long lizard. After all if they are still alive, there would be lot of dead people isn't it ?. Being chased by a Komodo dragon is bad enough. Any idea how they got extinct ?

Harry Whitewolf | 1745 comments Maybe when Adam had the laborious task of naming everything... gee, that must have taken ages... he couldn't think of what to name a dinosaur, hence it remained unnamed, which explains why there is no Biblical reference.

Fay, I think I've cracked it. Which takes me back to dino eggs. I want poached.

Small insects are named in the Bible...but for some reason they forgot to name the biggest meanest baddest creatures ever to walk the Earth?
Hmmmm...Call me crazy here, but could it be the Bible was written by MEN in the Earth's very recent history? Men who didn't know dinos ever existed...

message 693: by Janith (last edited Jun 11, 2015 12:37AM) (new)

Janith Pathirage (pathirage) | 135 comments Or are they still alive in some remote part of the earth ? .Evidence found in Glen Rose, Texas, South America, Mexico, and California, demonstrates beyond a shadow of doubt that dinosaurs and mankind co-existed and walked the earth at the very same time.

Our knowledge of exactly what the dinos looked like is limited to the past 180 years. You can not tell what a dinosaur looks like from looking at a skeleton or a pile of bones. If all dinos died out 65 million years ago then how the hell did Mayans depict dino images in their carvings and paintings ? . I think it's high time we change our history books

Has anyone ever theorized that dinos were alien life forms not native to this planet?
I mean, we're told they were like animals, but how do we know they weren't super intelligent? More intelligent than humans...
As you say, all we really have is a bunch of bones.

You had to complicate things!
I thought we had this whole thing simplified i.e. blame it on the aliens.
But no, now you had to throw a spanner in the works regarding these bloody footprints!

Well, could it be that these footprints indicate man has been on this Earth far longer than scientists currently estimate? Could it be some kind of humans were on the planet 65+ million years ago?

Haha , I like complicating things :D . Your theory could be right. But I like to believe some dinos survived the extinction event. Coelacanth is a good example. He's 400 million years old . What if ancient Mexico was like Arthur Conan Doyle's "Lost World" . Then there could be more lost worlds out there. Now I like to see James Morcan organizing an expedition in Australia to find these lost dinos !! (like Professor Challenger)lol
