Oh good.
That explains how the Earth is only 10,000 years old.
I should've listened to the fundamentalists all along!

Case solved.
Shall I shut down this thread now?

Harry Whitewolf | 1745 comments Or maybe they were props in an old movie...

message 603: by Harry (new)

Harry Whitewolf | 1745 comments Ta Sayori.

Whilst I'm at it... can we know for sure that pterodactyls couldn't breathe fire? i.e- aside from a name, it's the only thing stopping this dinosaur being a dragon.

message 604: by Harry (new)

Harry Whitewolf | 1745 comments Ah, you can't have conspiracy theories without a bit of paranoia floating around. ;)

message 605: by Harry (new)

Harry Whitewolf | 1745 comments It was meant with sheer black humour and nothing more PatEye as I felt things have been going a bit overboard lately. So, yep, let's reel it back to dinosaur movie gurus with wide vision.

Laureen (laureenandersonswfcomau) | 478 comments Now that's the PatEye I know. Very funny with a wild imagination. I still think you would make a great cartoonist, PatEye. I'd love to see the Dino with a mustache.

You sure can Harry. I used to be able to draw, a little, but not any more PatEye. However, Harry, someone mentioned you can draw very well. I am laughing already at the result in my mind.

message 614: by Janith (new)

Janith Pathirage (pathirage) | 135 comments I recommend the movie "The Dinosaur Project". Heavily underrated but I thought it was impressive. And it provides a different opinion on what might have happened to the dinos.

Thanks Janith, I may just check that out, time permitting. ALL of my downtime gets taken up with Underground Knowledge and Good Reads with a very little bit left over for reading. Don't usually get to movies.

However, much as I love this comedy thread, I would really love to know if there is any factual proof of what happened to the dinosaurs.

I find that, as you know, sometimes your posts hit the nail on the head as squarely as does Mr. McHammer the master hammerer of Hammertown, whilst at other times I find them hard to decipher. :)

Your latest sits somewhere in the middle, in that I think I understand much, but it's so hard to tell when fantasies and realities blur in subjectivity.

(My attempt at a suitable response.)

What's wrong Harry? You mean to say you cannot work out how Mr PatEye's abstract stream of consciousness posts about unrequited love or other personal fantasies relate to this dino thread or anything else discussed in this group?

Come to think of it, I cannot see any connection either!

message 641: by Harry (new)

Harry Whitewolf | 1745 comments Well, we've gotta have a love story and cloudy edged fantasy sections in our dino movie we're making, ain't we?

message 642: by [deleted user] (new)

Dear Lance, Harry & James,

Ditto for me regarding all of PaT Eye's ramblings!

As you know guys I don't have much time to post in this group, at least not regularly, but I like reading all the posts each night when I get home late from work.
However, since this Pat Eye guy joined I find he's overloading this system with his BS.

So in short, PaT Eye: shut the hell up!!!

Yeah true, but at this rate there will be no room for the dinosaurs to get some screen time ;)

Well maybe there's a silver lining to all this, Harry, in that you've just discovered your next book to write:

THE PATEYE CODE: A Manual to Decipher PatEye's Posts

At this rate it could prove to be a very popular book with Goodreads members ;)

Faith (faymorrow) | 309 comments Can you guys just imagine if all of the people who have contributed to this post were all in an actual room sitting together? I mean, for Pete's sake that would be outrageous. I'm pretty sure half of us would be yelling half of the time. Pateye would be holding some poetry book and spewing out some recent dino poetry. I'm sure Harry would be the amused jokester by all of this. James and Lance would be trying to calm us down a bit but still going wild with the dino jokes and sarcasm. Sayori and me being most likely the youngest in the group and trying to inch our way into the real conversation and then you've got Jamith with his real dino facts (that I truly enjoy reading). And then the other folks fitting in here and there at random intervals. Just like one big dino family.

And then in the end we'd all end up watching Power Rangers. :)

Ha! Quite brilliant and succinctly put and accurate Fay. (I'd also be the one hanging out the window for a ciggie).

But... may be we all ARE in one room... :)

Perhaps we can all try putting our noggins together over how to deal with the more serious issues being discussed elsewhere in the group.... What am I thinking? Not a chance when there are dino jokes to be had.

Ha, very evocative imagery there. I got as far as Sayori an you "inching your way" and my mind jumped ahead to "out the door" but I much preferred that you stayed to hear the drama.

Huh, maybe we really ARE in a room together, Harry. Maybe if this was The Twilight Zone.
