Oh that's alright Harry :) they seem bit out but surely they were reptiles. Most of them like the one I mentioned before evolved from land dinos. Their legs became paddles and got bigger in size but apart from that, nothing really changed. These guys had to come to the surface level to breath just like our crocodiles.

If these ocean dinos appeared in Jurassic Park 4 as you said, then they must be dinos. Everything in Jurassic Park is always true!!

Or I could be wrong Harry. But according to some recent researches on Paleontology, it was found that some minor predatory land dinos fled to oceans to avoid competition from large predators and evolved into apex predators. And they remained reptiles 100%. This documentary gives valuable insights regarding this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhY_S...

And their evolution didn't stop from there. These guys even moved to soft waters suggesting that their final destination could have been land again. But they all got extinct before completing the circle. What was the game evolution playing there ?. Were they about to return back to land to claim dominance ?. Scientists wonder.

But coming back to your comment , I really dont know if these sea monsters are been addressed by something other than the term dinosaurs. So please dont take my answer as the final answer. I wish I had a friend who's into paleontology so I could ask this from him personally.

So lets ask this from our friends here. Based on this new evidence, were guys like Plesiosaur, Mosasaurs and Pliosaurus actual dinos ? if not what were they ?. I hope someone will enlighten us.

How did the aliens wipe out the Dinos? I still think it was something to do with the changing of the "ages". Like maybe the Ice Age.

Ancient astronaut theorists are fairly certain that aliens killed off the dinosaurs, possibly by sending the asteroid that caused the Cretaceous-Tertiary (K-T) boundary event. Its way off I know

message 591: by Janith (new)

Janith Pathirage (pathirage) | 135 comments And some theorists suggest, aliens are the dinosaurs. They say the "Reptilians" genetically created them as pets and brought to earth. Some real wild theories out there. But they are quite amusing and in the words of James, should not be instantly dismissed (I borrowed your saying James, hope you won't mind :D)

One mystery solved thanks to Laureen!! ;). We're cool man take it easy. But what I don't get is why would anyone bombard stupid jokes on a thread like this , if he / she can't contribute or has no idea about the subject, then that person can always sod off (maybe to a youtube channel where one can find lot of such amusing discussions) because there are lot of interesting opinions been shared here. At least one should not reply to a good comment and ruin it for the sake of professionalism. Or how about for the respect of other people's opinions ?... Because new people might get discouraged to share their opinions if they think someone is taking them for a joke. But if you are bored you can always come and play with me PAT EYE. I'm an exception, or remember, there's always Youtube lol

Anyway, I have renamed it (a satirical thread) in the subject line so hopefully nobody in future takes anything in this discussion too seriously.

The mostly forgotten ancient civilisations that once lived upon this Earth were great artists- so much so that they were able to gather together thousands of bones from various deceased animals and then meticulously carve and place these bones to form magnificent bone sculptures of made up creatures which today we call dinosaurs.
