Corina | 2768 comments Yeah, sometimes it's just not the right time. Hope you love it when you jump back into it.
I do have my eye on a few releases. I have the new T Kingfisher already. I kind of gave up on Liane Moriarty but I might give her a new book a go if the reviews are good.
The baby is not such a baby anymore haha. He will be 1 at the end of this month if you can believe it. Still not sleeping through the night though his sleep has improved. They grow up so fast. My other little one turned 4...crazy. The years are going by so fast. How is everything on your end? other than the stressful job.

message 302: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments hey guys! I'm also not feeling this one that much! it's been kinda hard to get through it, and work has been very overwhelming so listening to audiobooks hasn't been an option :'( I'm going to try to get through this one!
aww Corina, that's so crazy that your baby's almost 1!! at what age will your eldest start school? :)

message 303: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I will be honest, listening to this one on audio was the best choice as it was easier to get through as I wasn't as invested. But I know sometimes you just need more of your focus at work, so audiobooks don't work. No pressure, totally understand work can be overwhelming sometimes. I'm glad I'm not managing people anymore, that's for sure.
Crazy, I know. In NZ they start school at 5 years old so it's going to be next year, hard to believe.

message 304: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Aw it’s crazy how slow the days go but how fast the years go… I can’t imagine growing two humans and watching them grow up though that’s a whole trip itself!!!! Can you believe we’ve been reading together for like 3 1/2 - 4 years isn’t that crazy??! 🤪 haha

This one is definitely harder to get through I’m almost done I’ll probably finish tonight after we get home..

Sorry to hear about work Bella I just had the same issue too with work. I know one thing though you can do it and you’ll find the right time for yourself and managing work when you can! All seasons of life right?

message 305: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Exactly...looking back to how small they were, it's a bit surreal sometimes. Wow...time has flown by, can't believe it's been that long now lol. Reading with you guys bring me joy...lucky to have found you here :)
Rememeber you also need to take of yourself and it's ok to take a break sometimes too ;)

message 306: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments The games gods play by Abigail Owen’s have you guys seen that? Go look and tell me what u think

message 307: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Never heard of it, but it sounds interesting, would be keen to check it out. I found the ebook on Libby and placed a hold but it's a 10 week wait.

message 308: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Yeah I think the wait was 2 ish months for me too

message 309: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Obviously a popular new release. We can go for another option in the meantime if anything comes to mind.

message 310: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments I’m open to suggestions 😂 I’m gonna look thru our spread sheet

message 311: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments What genre? :D Did you finish this one btw? lol

message 312: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Yeah it was mediocre

message 313: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Other than Stoker and Veronica, I wasn't engaged in this one for sure.

message 314: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments What genre shall I look for our next one?

message 315: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments hey guys!! just finished this one and I did end up liking it by the end :) I loved stokers and Veronicas discussion at the end! about wanting to stay together, and not needing to tie each other down through marriage to do so! i love that they have this love and understanding with each other :')

message 316: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments and yes, reading with you two has brought me so much joy too! I'm really grateful to have met you both and that we get to share our love for reading together :')

message 317: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments I'm happy to read anything next!
The Games Gods Play is available for me to borrow as well!
did we ever read Midnight is the Darkest Hour by Ashley Winstead? I know she's an author we typically enjoy

message 318: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I love their relationship too. I didn't enjoy the story in this one as much, but I just root for Stoker and Veronica everytime :)

message 319: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I'm excited for anything we get to read together :)

message 320: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I still have 6 weeks to wait for The Games Gods Play. I'm pretty sure Courtney read Midnight is the Darkest Hour and I read it too a month ago or so as the audiobook was available at the library. I have to be honest I was really disappointed by it. Also, there was a Twilight overload in the story lol.

message 321: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments omg really!! dang maybe I'll skip that one! lol

message 322: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments would you guys be interested in First Lie Wins? i think it's like a thriller/mystery

message 323: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Lol...it's maybe a me thing...I'm not a Twilight fan.

message 324: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Sorry, listened to that one on audio. It was ok, but nothing amazing.

message 325: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I can look on my list and see what I have for a thriller/mystery if we are keen for that :)

message 326: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments haha I get you! i feel like I have a love/hate relationship with twilight!

message 327: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments okay sounds good!

message 328: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments Courtney, how are you and your fam doing? I've been seeing that the hurricane has been very catastrophic in florida :/

message 329: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments I have been meaning to pick up The God of the Woods. It's a literary thriller if you guys are keen on that one. Otherwise, I heard that The Book of Doors is like a somewhat fantasy thriller.

message 330: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Oh no...I heard about the hurricane but didn't know where abouts it's travelling to as I don't much watch the news. Hope everyone is safe, Courtney!

message 331: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Hey guys I have been having a horrible time trying to connect Goodreads on my phone so I’m sorry I’ve been MIA!

As for the hurricane my part of Florida is okay thank god but other parts all around me were wrecked so we are very fortunate because I don’t think anyone was expecting it to be this bad here.

message 332: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments And how could you hate twilight corina!!! Blasphemy! Haha

I don’t think I would have liked it if I read it today but 16 year old Courtney loved it

message 333: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Glad to hear you are okay. It's pretty horrible when you see devastation around you.

message 334: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Lol...I think the books only came out in Romania after the first film was released or I wasn't aware of them until then. And the film definitely put me off reading the books and also I was too old by that time to actually enjoy them haha.

message 335: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments i can pick up either one of those, Corina! :)

message 336: by Bella (new)

Bella | 1177 comments oh that's good, Courtney! happy to hear you're okay :)

message 337: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Happy with whatever works for everyone, I have both on my shelves :) Or if you have any other ideas? What do you think, Courtney!

message 338: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Courtney, I hope you and your family are safe! <3

message 339: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Aw thanks guys this one definitely hit us personally it wasn’t bad for my house but the roads are washed out all over town with flooding and 3 main roads completely caved in which was crazy!! Almost like a sink hole.

Also I’m having trouble getting good reads on my phone which is why I’ve been so MIA
I didn’t go to work today so I’m trying to fix it now but have you guys seen anything good on “the games gods play”

message 340: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments And I’m ready to sink into a good book for sure.

Hope you both are doing well!

message 341: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Glad to hear you are all safe. Its surreal to see the damage after.
All good, the goodreads app is not the best. I have personally seen mixed reviews, but I have put it on hold on libby when you mentioned it last. I have 2 more weeks to wait.

message 342: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments We are all good here. It's coming into springtime, so we have been getting warmer days but we are also having quite a bit of rain too.

message 343: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Lmao I did mention it then? Hahaha 😝

And Idk why but Florida had so much rain this year!!! I bet you’re ready for the warmer weather by now huh

message 344: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments It's so unfortunate that it seems like Florida is getting the worst of it.

message 345: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments We could try another book in the meantime if it suits and if you have another one in mind

message 346: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Yeah. I feel like Helene really screwed NC and Milton screwed us. I’m totally down to read one in the meantime what are you reading

message 347: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments Bella was mentioning something thriller or mystery leaning. I have The Book of doors which I think is a fantasy thriller type and The God of the Woods which is a mystery. Also have An academy of liars which is a dark academia fantasy I think.

message 348: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments I started the book 📚 of doors and it’s really interesting idk why I stopped reading it something with school… def down to give it a go but I have all those on my TBR

message 349: by Corina (new)

Corina | 2768 comments My hold for the Games Gods Play came in today, earlier than expected. So we could start that too. Let me know if I should borrow it or postpone it.

message 350: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Webb | 1361 comments Oooh Bella wat do you think? Maybe if Bella doesn’t answer by tonight postpone it but it’s up to you I’m up for anything at this point
