Hello fellow readers-

Creating this thread for our twelfth overall book but our fourth and final book of round 3.

This is also our first (Non-Harry Potter) sequel book of bookclub!

Please share your final ranking and thoughts below

Alicia Jones | 35 comments Fav Character: Has to be Jade, “because she’s Jade fucking Daniel’s and a thousand men like you can’t even reach up to touch her combat boots”. The character development, a masterpiece. Our forever Final Girl saving the day again in a realistic and badass style.

Least Fav Character: Rexall for the lack of character development. He’s just as sleezy as the first book, still on his hidden perv camera game.

Rating: 8.0 I feel it was almost as good as the first one. Little less of a mystery, I was hoping for a random killer again and Ginger and her itty bitty revenge wasn’t enough for me but this was a little easier to understand for the general population with less references, thanks to the good foundation laid in the first book.

Favorite Character: Letha - Kind of the best person in the story to me. While dealing with racists in town who think she is too high and mighty for them, she still pays for everyone's college in town. I really enjoy the nuance of her character and while she is recovering from the trauma of the july 4th massacre, there is hints at her becoming too reliant of pain pills. She also stands up to the killer at the risk of her own health.

Least Favorite: Rexall - Gross guy who is sitting around watching kids and is rooting and waiting for Tab Daniels to come back.

Rating - 8.5/10 - This book is propelled by the groundwork from the first book and has great development in the world of Proofrock and with the characters. The changing viewpoints added freshness and felt like it could fully lean into the world of slashers by showing cool death scenes from minor characters. There is some stuff that is left up in the air that might potentially be left for the final book to wrap up.

Alex O. | 40 comments Favorite Character: Letha - I love Letha's character devulpment from the innocent final girl to the scorned survivor, it was my favorite part of the book. My favorite scene from the series thus far is when she stands up to Dark Mills South and rips her own jaw open. Bad ass. Honorable mention to Banner.

Least Favorite Character: Rexall. He shot Melanie, was being a creepy janitor the whole time, and that about sums it up. I hope he dies in the last book.

Rating: 7.9 - I really enjoyed this book a lot more than the first but the messy writing style and sentence structure does take it down a few points for me. That said, I enjyoed the book overall and loved the character devulpment between installments.
