Amy | 12949 comments I adored every single moment of this to the very last drop and it has stayed with me all day. What a divine book, perfectly crafted. I Laughed the whole way through, huge audible guffaws, I Cried by the end, and I Loved the whole way through. The dialogue was so witty and spot on. Loved the characters, oh Aunt Ada was the absolute best character.

The whole thing was just so perfectly done. Thank you to the Jewish Book Club for making this monthly pick! It was absolutely delightful. 5 stars from me.

It bears mentioning that the title is a double entendre, as our heroine is trying to figure out, as a young woman in the 1950’s whose choices are limited, how to live and love on her own terms. The book is about her figuring out how to come into her own, and writing is a central piece of her learning to narrate her own story and chart her own course, just like her fabulous aunt.
