Garwoods' gift of pulling the reader in at the start is exceptional. You can't help but wonder why or how she is going to kill someone. She doesn't appear to be a murderer.

I just couldn't wait to find out what the ----- was going on. This was a very intriguing start to a book.

I always enjoy her opening paragraphs. She knows how to draw a reader in.
