i had just turned 15. i definitely think it's for an older age then that, but it depends on your maturity (10 is too young no matter your maturity though)

in my opinion, it's not as good as acotar. the plot is different, but they do feel similar to me.

I think anyone younger then 13 shouldn’t read it. I think 14 is okay if you/ your child can handle mature themes. But if they can’t then a definite no. 15-17 I think is acceptable. But definitely check out content/trigger warnings

I'm 15 so i read it at 15 but i think anyone after 12 could read it without an issue...at 10 i would say give it to them, see if they like it (most likely they'll get bored lmao). Thats what my parents did with my obsession surrounding ASOIAF (i finally read that at age 13-14)

I agree, Fourth Wing is definitely a new adult series, not a YA series. I personally think I would've been fine reading it at about 16/17 but it probably would've been the most explicit thing I'd ever read at that point. Makes me uncomfy to see 13-15 year olds reading it.

I think ACOTAR is better but most people who like one like the other! I like them both, so I don't think you'll be disappointed as long as you're not going into it explicitly trying to compare them.

Fully agree with you. I have a big issue with the industry marketing books as YA/NA and directing them towards teenagers when there's such explicit scenes/language.
