Every team analysed after Round 4 in just three words.ADELAIDE CROWS: Season already over.
BRISBANE LIONS: Oh, hello there!
CARLTON: This year’s Magpies.
COLLINGWOOD: Almost got Collingwood-ed.
ESSENDON: Severe reality check.
FREMANTLE: It was touched.
GEELONG: Goalkicking saving them.
GOLD COAST SUNS: Showing genuine growth.
GWS GIANTS: Still expansion kings.
HAWTHORN: Unlucky yet again.
MELBOURNE: Relocate to Adelaide?
NORTH MELBOURNE: Well... about right.
PORT ADELAIDE: Top four again?
RICHMOND: Brave every week.
ST KILDA: Impressive comeback. Needed.
SYDNEY SWANS: Getting slightly concerned.
WEST COAST EAGLES: Harley hype justified.
WESTERN BULLDOGS: Bont, Libba unassisted.
I would like to add my congratulations to Val for the perfect tipping as well as the correct margin. Not sure I have ever seen this achieved before so well played! My tips for this week and still going out on the edge for at least one match.
Demons by 15
Bombers.. yes Val I am tipping them
Giants no stopping them at the moment
Blues
Suns
Port
Cats
Tigers.. although this could be the chance for the Eagles but Tigers played well last weekend.
Round 6:Really hoping to turn my game around...i ain't doing well atm!
Dees - 6pts (i think it'll be a close one)
Dogs - Still holding faith with them atm!
GWS - Rack up that percentage boys!
Blues - the new comeback kings?
Suns - a potential Hawks upsets mibbe? Don't think so.
Port - Ain't nowt stopping this side atm
Cats - Geelong proving themselves to be a side to be reckoned with.
Tigers - the other game that could produce an upset, Eagles didn't play badly last week against the superior Swans...but Richmond will prevail i think.
Agreed regarding Eagles who are improving but think Tigers will be too strong but a surprise is on the cards
Melbourne Demons + 10Western Bulldogs
GWS Giants
Carlton Blues
Gold Coast Suns
Port Adelaide Power
Geelong Cats
Richmond Tigers
Yes, congrats Val on the perfect 9 + the perfect (0) score, don't remember that ever happening before either
Thanks for all the congratulations. It was a pure fluke and will never happen again (by me, anyway).Mine:
Demons x 11
Dogs
Giants
Blues
Suns
Port
Cats
Eagles
I am going out on a limb with the last game. Although the Tigers have been putting up a fight in recent outings, they still only have one win on the board plus, after travelling to Adelaide last week, they now have to travel to Perth. The Eagles are looking a bit stronger and No.1 draft pick Harley Reid is awesome. I think they might just have their tails up in front of their home crowd. Well, I hope so anyway.
Tonight's result:Melbourne Demons (on hiatus) v Brisbane Lions (on hiatus)
2.0.12 (Q1) 4.2.26
2.4.16 (Q2) 7.4.46
3.7.25 (Q3) 10.8.68
8.12.60 (Q4) 12.10.82
Well that wasn't supposed to happen. The final score flatters Melbourne because the Lions put on a master class and had them beat all over the ground. It was only in the final quarter that Melbourne were able to string a few plays together. Suzy was the lone outlier this round and collects another $7.00 for Friends With Dignity.
I am kicking myself because I was going to change my pick this afternoon. Just thought Demons without Pickett would struggle. The Lions were first class this evening and made the Demons look second rate. The score should have been 40 plus as Val suggested.
I take back my comment of a couple of weks ago about Lions being a spent force. The tall forwards rely on service and tonight they got it. Cam Rayney was magnificent and Lackie Neal is a star.
Bloody Demons! Dead cert to win, but ah no...not this week. Where has this Brisbane side been eh...bit late to the show! Pffff!!
You did too! Well done on your foresight. My daughter (Doggies member) offered to take me and her brother (Bombers supporter) to the game tonight. I had to decline as I've got a big day tomorrow. She's just messaged me to say she wishes I'd been there (as in the result would have been totally different!) I think the Dogs are a better team than Essendon but kudos to the Bombers for keeping The Bont, Libber and Corey Weightman under tight rein. Todd Goldstein was very good in the ruck but all the players did their part. My favourite, Sam Durham, was also excellent.Western Bulldogs (on hiatus) v Essendon Bombers (Val)

Wow, some really tight games there. Looks like GWS faded out in that last quarter, they were lucky to steal the win by that lonely one point! Surprised by the Carlton v Crows result, maybe Adelaide aren't down and out just yet. Suns will be happy with the percentage boost...and Port had a narrow escape too.

WESTERN BULLDOGS: Nothing makes sense.
As I said a tough week ahead with many games between teams who are roughly level and so inconsistent. I have tipped my Swans but with no confidence as Gold Coast are a different team this year with a top coach and a good record against the Swans. When I came to it though it was hard to go against the Swans Saints by 8
Crows but this could easily go either way
Port Adelaide.. another close one
Blues.... only because GWS have a couple of big injury concerns
Lions.... who knows which team will turn up but they are getting large crowds who do their best at the Gabba for the Lions
Fremantle
Swans
Hawthorn... 2 winless teams so anyone's guess.

Yikes!
It'll be a another tight one....but have hope for my boys.
St Kilda Saints + 3Adelaide Crows
Port Adelaide Power
GWS Giants
Brisbane Lions
Fremantle Dockers
Sydney Swans
Hawthorn Hawks
Clever clogs!Tonight's result:
St Kilda Saints (Tim) v Western Bulldogs (on hiatus)
1.0.6 (Q1) 7.1.43
4.3.27 (Q2) 12.4.76
5.7.37 (Q3) 17.6.108
9.10.64 (Q4) 19.10.124
A rather boring game because it was completely one-sided. It was hard to tell how good the Dogs were because the Saints were just so bad - listless and uninterested. Brad Hill tried hard but the rest may as well have stayed home. Hardly sighted Jack Steele, Seb Ross, Jack Sinclair, Mitch Owens. Suzy's underdog strategy pays off again with another $7.00 going to Friends With Dignity.
BEWARE!!! THERE'S A WEDNESDAY NIGHT GAME NEXT WEEK!!! PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR TIPS EARLY!!! Here's a heads-up:

Agreed Val. A truly dreadful game which really does nothing for AFL. Really thought the Saints had turned a corner for this season but now dropping back just like they have done for the last 15 years. This weeks fixtures show so much promise for some tight games so lets hope it improves. Think the GWS Blues match should be a cracker but injuries may well decide.
Meant to ask Val, did you get the chance to see "The Motive and The Cue" screening from the National Theatre at cinemas a couple of weekends ago? It's a play about Sir John Gielgud directing Richard Burton for a production of Hamlet in 1964. Wonderful performances with Mark Gatiss as Gielgud and Johnny Flynn as Burton. Gatiss has just won the Olivier award for best actor which was much deserved. The wonderfully named Tuppence Middleton plays Liz Taylor.
No Tim, I didn't see it. I haven't been to the cinema in ages. I know The Palace chain (of which I am a member) screens a lot of plays and operas but I am rather unmotivated at the moment, probably owing to ongoing sciatica issues. I've got an MTC play tomorrow - The Almighty Sometimes with Nadine Gardiner.
We are members too and it is good to have the opportunity of catching up with plays from the UK. Sorry to hear of your issues. The Almighty Sometimes received great reviews and sounds a very interesting play. Hope you enjoy. Must say we are making an effort to get out more in the City but this is proving tough with me currently not working but hopefully prospects looking a little brighter now. Palace do some excellent offers for members and we went to see Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Goode in Freud's Last Session last Sunday which was very interesting.
A very scrappy game in Adelaide and the Bombers not taking a lot of opportunities. Luckily I looked at our MTC tickets and the play is next Saturday, not tomorrow.
Well it did turn out to be an exciting second half with the teams alternating the lead and missing chances. Well done to my boys for fighting it out to the end.Tonight's result:

Not a good day for us hapless tipsters. Collingwood showed their 2023 form by putting Port back in their box. Carlton really looked the goods in beating the Giants comfortably - and is Toby Green in trouble again? The rain poured down at the Gabba and the Lions didn't know what to do. The Cats kept their heads and quietly went about their business - and where did they find Toby Conway?? Over in the west, the Eagles (most of whom look like they're still in primary school) had no trouble in dispensing with the Dockers. Suzy has tipped all six winners so far and cannot be caught now.
