Jo Kerr | 76 comments Hi! I’m really interested in doing some ARC reads and want to ask those of you who do this, how do you go about it?

- Do you need a certain sort of profile/activity/number of friends in Goodreads?
- Do you need to post your reviews elsewhere outside of GR?
- How do you request ARCs? (I’ve asked on two FB posts so far but not heard from either)

Any help/advice gratefully received! 🤩

You will give them your goodreads name but i got approved for each book i put myself forward for. They will usually give you a timescale to read and review by too. I only do goodreads and also on booksprout if that's where i got it from x

Jacqueline (applejacksbooks) Netgalley.com is where a lot of people get ARCs from. you can request right on the website. It helps to connect your socials (goodreads/amazon/tiktok etc) and be active with reviewing books. You request them right on the website and the publisher can approve/deny.

Stefy B. | 6 comments I always go to Netgalley. Honestly I didn't know there were other platforms. There you can find books to request as well as free to read.
To request, you just have to push a button and select the option of why you are interested in the book.
Hope it helps.

Shelby | 2 comments Sign up for netgalley, but also the shelf/publisher weekly email. The email usually has a few arcs advertised, and also will send out notice for grab-a-galley. Grab-a-galley is about twice a year, and you get to select a bunch of arcs from a wide selection. You might not get everything you wanted, but you're almost guaranteed some.

As you start reviewing on netgalley, your ratings will go up and allow you to get more popular/desirable books. Definitely just try applying for anything you think you would read, but be careful about applying for too many at once and ending up with more ARCs than you can read.

Jessica | 4 comments There are pages on FB you can join that authors will post if they are looking for ARC readers. You can also set up an account on booksprout or book sirens. I also find a lot of mine on instagram, when my favorite authors post sign up links.

Rebecca (r1versong) | 29 comments BookSirens. I get as many Kindle arcs as I want. Start with one at a time and the more you do, you level up. Right now I can download as many as I want at a time.

ARC stands for advanced reader's copy. which basically means books that haven't been released yet. they ask you to review in return of having a free copy

Jana | 15 comments i personally get my ARCs from my instagram page. im so active there so authors find me and they ask me if im interested. sometimes i reach out to authors as well. goodreads has an ARC program called book siren they have good books too. i'm also on net galley and they have a wide variety of books and authors and publishers. you can also reach out to publishers on instagram!
