yup this works, I have read the book and it is a trip they take.

A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail
Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
The Travelling Cat Chronicles
Thanks.

From the blurb ~ Kit and Manny became infamous for their string of gas station robberies throughout Texas, making a name for themselves as the Texaco Twosome.
My rationale is that if it's a string of robberies, then obviously they have several "getaways" and enough of them to become notorious.
Will it work?

It's on a listopia for books about a vacation. The GR blurb reads:
"Stevens embarks on a country drive, during which he looks back over his career to reassure himself that he has served humanity by serving 'a great gentleman.'"
Does a country drive count as a getaway?
Thanks!

This will not work, It is clear that the intention of this task was relating to a leisure break so the task will be reworded for clarity

The book is told through the two voices of Nell and her mother Carmel
there is no mention of a trip in the GR info but from the narrative
"after her final exams Cartmel took a six week TEFL course in the centre of Dublin. Then she got on a plane and went to Italy. She started in Pisa at the beginning of September and moved to MIlan a few months later.
She arrived home after a year away -
Is this evidence enough for a trip? and if it is can I just link to here when posting?

if its central to the story it would work. It sounds like more of something she thinks about in passing.

OK thanks

After her father dies, Georgia Judge Rachel Cutler decides to go to Germany trying to understand some of her father's past. Her ex-husband follows after a few days. The two travel together and end up getting involved in some pretty dangerous situations.
Does this qualifies as a "trip"? They are in Europe quite awhile, eventually. So, it starts as a trip of discovery and morphs in to more.
The GR description deals with this, with different wording.

Per the GR description, the MC attends a week-long wedding celebration in Sri Lanka. The description doesn't explicitly say she traveled there, but the way it's written, it sounds like that can be assumed. Does that work?

sounds like she travels. I would definitely put in a reference from the book that shows she travels.

does this work
somerset Maugham visits some friends in Penang - I am only part way through but it seems to be mainly about his visit
Hi Jenn, can I have your thoughts on Bag of Bones? The blurb mentions the MC returning to a summer house that it describes as a "lakeside getaway", which sounds like it's an out-of-area trip for him.

as long as that getaway is central to the story it works. And it sounds like it does.

I have read that and it's all set at the retreat center which everyone has traveled to and they are there multiple days and nights.

I was wondering if Paper Towns would work for this one. The GR description mentions "another awesome road trip across America".
Thanks.

this one works. I have read this book :) The trip is very essential to the story.

It's been on the TBR since we did The Cartographers as a group read, as people kept comparing the two.
Has anyone read The Fury? It sounds like it would fit the task, even though the holiday turned out pretty bad.

Yes, I read it last month. They are vacationing over a holiday weekend on a private holiday.
