Lisha Stereotype means a simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group. We see that in this book people are being stereotyped due to where they come from and how they look. Ponyboy who is the main character in this book explains what the Greasers and Socs look like and why they don' get along. He explains how the Socs are richer and look decent while the Greasers are obsessed with how their hair looks and how they are hood. He begins to notice, because of Cherry Valance how they are all alike even if they don't see it. It connects to life today because people still think a certain way depending on where someone comes from, but we need to remember where you come from doesn't define you.
