Cas (casreadsanything) Excited to read this in March! I have been meaning to for a while

Kim | 89 comments Started this today and so far loving it. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story and characters progress, especially Bador. Which is something in itself as I don’t generally really like monkeys much.

Rachel | 1406 comments I read the first chapter and the POV is interesting so that’s a good sign

Trude Hell (trudehell) | 46 comments “Humans are masters of lies on every scale,” Bador adds. “They even lie to themselves all the time.”

To tell the truth, I like it so far, about four chapters in!

Paul (paulusm) | 10 comments Quite a way in and liking the world, characters and story. The baddies are nice and bad. The mix of ancient legend and modern tech is a spicy one

Kim | 89 comments I’m on chapter 23 and I’m starting to feel unsure about some of the characters and plot.

Sarah Connell (sarahconnell) | 315 comments The first chapter was great! Second chapter is a little more about the bureaucracy so far which is a bit vague. Hoping for more of the tech worldbuilding and less about family feuds.

Phil Brown | 6 comments About 3/4 through, it’s been a fun and frantic read !

message 10: by Aga (new) - rated it 5 stars

Aga | 1090 comments Ok, I was hype about this book beforehand but after reading the first chapter! OMG! This is so good!

Bonnie | 1290 comments This seems really fun and inventive. I like the tone and seeing/hearing things via Moku's dry point of view.

I gave four stars to Basu's previous book, The City Inside

Meredith | 1819 comments Finally getting to start this. I fell in love with the title and the cover art and, four chapters in, I am not disappointed. So quirky and fun! Great characters!

message 13: by Tara (new) - rated it 3 stars
