NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11086 comments I read this children’s book for the Swingset Hurdle in Steeplechase. 122 Farm tags.

This is a very cute Children’s book about what happens when farm animals learn to type to communicate with the farmer. They demand better working conditions (electric blankets)! The farmer said - shut up, you’re just workers, be happy you have a barn to sleep in. Just kidding! It did remind me of labor- management negotiations though, and the cow came up with a great trade. The book was too short, I wanted to know how many of the animals were going to make their own deals after the duck hi-jacked the typewriter. Fortunately it’s a whole series.

I would have asked my son what he would do if he was the farmer. Or the duck. He often came up with surprising (and wise) answers. Sigh. I miss those days.

✴️I was reminded of a book with an animal (a chicken?) who wanted to make bread. No one would help gather the wheat or mill the grains, etc., but they all wanted to eat the bread. Does anyone remember that book?

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12589 comments I see copies of this book all the time, coming into my libraries donation center. I love it!

I do remember the book you ask about-it is The Little Red Hen-a childhood favorite of mine

Booknblues | 12096 comments I've read Click Clack Moo many times and I was always assured to get a laugh or two.

Little Red Hen I used to tell as a participatory story with a paper bag puppet and finger puppets.

Then I found:
https://www.amazon.com/Rubber-Chicken...

Changed it to little yellow hen, but still kept the participatory nature of the story.

Yes that’s it. My brain got stuck on chicken little and I knew that couldn’t be right.

Theresa | 15570 comments I love love love and even own a copy of Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type, and if I ever hit the childrens book hurdle, it's the book I plan to read (though I have a wealth of other children's books relating to Christmas to pick from and also Grumpy Monkey).

I think it was a Christmas present from either a close friend or a family member....someone who knows me well.

Amy | 12933 comments A favorite of all three of my kids. Saved it for later for the grandchildren. Although that’s a funny concept since I still have one in eighth grade and one, just turned 21 today.

Linda Nielson | 388 comments I love Click Clack Moo and all of the books in the series. I read them to my grandchildren.
