Right? Oops. This series is really good at making you want to pick up the next one to find out what happens next.

Pam is disturbing! lol"
Quite a bit so!

Since it's only a 10 episode season, I would be disappointed if it covers all three books. I haven't read books 2 and 3, so I'm counting on this season focusing more on book 1.

Melissa Leo is playing Pam.
Juiette Lewis is playing Beverly.

Did anybody get confirmation on whether the show will cover all three books?

I've been trying to find that out. The only thing I've discovered is the "big reveal" about the town of Wayward Pines will happen in the 5th episode (out of 10) and that occurred at the end of book 1. So I would imagine the episodes after that would at least cover book 2, and possibly book 3?

Wow, that's a lot to cover in 10 episodes. It's a bit refreshing though to be able to view the whole story in a season. As opposed to stretching things out and making fans wait for the next season and/or movie to come out as is the custom these days.
That means I need to shuffle my TBR a bit though and get to books 2 and 3.

The first episode was ok, but I wish they had just focused on what was happening in the town and didn't flashback to Ethan's wife or boss. If I hadn't read the books, I think it would have been more confusing than compelling.

Plus, not a lot of explanation needed once the reveals begin.

I agree. Most film adaptations take some liberties with the source material, but with this it's been pretty true to the book. Many scenes (actually most scenes) were taken almost word for word from the book. However, at the current pace of the show they will be done in 6 weeks and not 10.

man did they go nuts with Under the Dome. The only similarities between the book and mini-series is there is a dome and the characters have the same name, but most of them are nothing like they were in the book. Seeing the preview for this next season it looks even more bizarre. (of course, I'll be watching)

I read all three as well. Are you following the Fox series?

I am following the Fox series. I like it, but there are some differences. That's to be expected I suppose.

yeah, they scared me for a minute. I thought they were going the zombie route. I haven't read books 2 & 3 so I hope I can tell where to stop in the series.
