Who do you think Harry Potter should have ended up with?

I never liked the idea of Ginny, but also not Luna. Her and Neville are canon to me after all the fanfic I’ve gone through lol. I so badly want to think Hermione like JK’s idea was before she thought it was too basic, but I also feel like they’re better as friends.

So to me, Harry would’ve become an Auror and found someone within that department that we don’t previously know from Hogwarts. Unlike many, I really like him in the idea of Auror over DADA (maybe down the road), and always felt he’s the most forgotten character in his own series lol. I’d love to read a really good fic about him finding someone new, where he gets to be himself from scratch without the preconceived opinion of the Chosen One.

i am so happy we are talking about this!! Personally, when it comes to the movies, harry and ginny had absolutely NO chemistry...however book ginny and harry i dont particularly mind and i can handle it, and if i had to choose a ginny/harry trope at all, i would say i like headcannon/fanfic harry/ginny the most (if that makes sense lol), however im not sure i necessarily ship them at all, and rather ive just become accustomed to the idea of them together, but jkr should have thought out harrys love interest more, i feel like. i dont know exactly who and no one really comes to mind, i just think it should have been more thoroughly thought through and written. I will say when i was younger, i thought harry and luna would have been a better match but idk now, I do completely love and adore luna tho, as well as book ginny.

you know what to be honest with you, I’m a diehard Harry Potter fan has been since I was a child. But I honestly have always thought that Harry and Hermione should’ve gotten together. I love Ron 100%. He is my ginger baby. He has my heart, but everything that Harry and Hermione went through it just made sense! They had so many similarities, so many ties. And I mean Ginny had always been obsessed with Harry, I mean, who wouldn’t have. But there was just this undeniable chemistry between Harry and Hermione

I think Ginny makes a lot of sense.

Ginny is non judgemental, which Harry really needs as he has been judged his entire life.

Ginny also comes from a large loving family with a mother and father that Harry already had grown to love. Having a real family is something that Harry first experienced in the Weasley home. For him to be drawn to become a part of it feels right.

Sure, Luna was interesting for a minute and Hermoine is clearly one of his besties. Ron and Hermoine don't have the warm and accepting safeness of Ginny though. If you really think about all Harry ever wanted in life, he got that with Ginny.

Everything else has been an adventure and I am not convinced, that as well as Harry has done with the adversity thrown at him, that he actually enjoyed any of it. With the exception of the friends that he made and Quidditch, the Hogwarts experience wasn't a pleasant one.

As far as Ron and Hermoine, that makes sense too. Hermoine is more of a leader and she likes to feel needed. Ron is pretty chill and he enjoys being recognized but not necessarily with extra responsibility.

That's the tldr of my thoughts anyway. Obviously there's a lot more too it but there are somethings people grow out of and into and other things that remain the same. The parts that seem core to the four of them seem to fit.

Movie Harry/Ginny was cringy for me but book Harry/Ginny makes sense. I think Hermoine is better off as a friend to Harry and I also think Cho was NOT endgame. I do wish there was more to Cho than being Cedric’s girlfriend and being a Ravenclaw.

I'm team Ginny, I thought about Luna for a few minutes but honestly that just wouldn't have worked out. Hermione is more like a sister to Harry, he seems to have always fit in with the Weasley family so Ginny made sense. That's my thoughts on it anyways.

personally probably no one, because Ginny and Harry didn't have chemistry but also I don't see him with Hermione, Luna or Cho. And I also think that he would be better Hogwarts teacher than auror (I think he enjoyed teaching DA and Harry being an auror didn't feel right, like something society expected rather than something he wanted.)

Ginny is my favourite character, but I hated the way she was sidelined in the final book. And after the battle of Hogwarts, Harry didn’t even want to go up to her straight away.
I can see what Harry gets from the relationship, but Ginny is seriously short changed. It almost feels that Harry marries her for her family as much as for herself.

i can see why many people would say Ginny because she was from the family that harry had come to love and accept as his own and because her personality itself matched really well with his, but i honestly don't see them together and that isn't to hate on it because the pairing itself is amazing and they do have a lot of chemistry and stuff but i see her as someone like Ron or Hermione, and let's be honest the Weasleys have accepted him whether he marries her or not. I personally see him with Draco, but realistically after the war I don't really see him with anybody. I see him more as this reserved person who went back to Hogwarts to teach. I don't see him as someone whose settling down or going straight into the Auror business. I see him as someone whose just tired and wants to rest and so he never really marries anybody. I dont think that man is ready for anything serious fresh from war especially after everything, if I do see him with anyone its way off there, years later.
