When reading, can you bounce between series and unrelated standalone books or must you finish said series before starting something new?

Depends, if the series consumes me I’ll finish it in one go, if it’s boring I’ll probably take a break
I usually like to read a full series one after the other. however, I am a mood reader so like right now, I'm reading multiple books and genres lol
Most of the time I have to finish series before starting something else - but that's because I feel like I can't retain the information.
i honestly just read what I have on hand, if I get really excited about a series I'll buy it and read it in one go, otherwise I mix books and series together

I normally bounce around because if I read them back to back I often get tired of them and just won't enjoy them the way I want to
i have a bad habit of not finishing series or just taking forever to finish them lol. im in the middle of like 6 series right now
