Diane It's extremely hard to stop books from yellowing as any amount of humidity in your home from cooking,showering/bathing and drying laundry in your home won't help them! Try to maintain a moderate humidity level of around 50% to prevent excessive moisture or dryness. Use dehumidifiers or humidifiers, depending on your climate, to regulate humidity levels in the storage area. Avoid storing books in basements or damp areas prone to high humidity.
Hope this helps Nora??🤔

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments I immigrated 22 years ago from Germany with 1.500 older books from the 1960's to 1990's and even my children's books from the 1960's are almost all still white and have not yellowed. I keep them in a room where the shades are always blocking light from the windows with the door closed and a. c. turned on from mid April to mid November (MA is very hot), so they are never exposed to humid air or sun light. Hope that helps.

Kai's Darling | 660 comments Try keeping them out the sun and leaving the windows open for a bit. I've got dozens of books in my room and they're always mainly out the sun and my window is open frequently as well
