How do we feel about 3rd person pov's ?

I hate when a book is writtien in 3rd person I get confused. It feels like I'm reading a story about someone else and I'm never sure if it's a character or not. It's frustrating when I feel like I can't connect with the characters because I can't see them in my head.
I prefer books written in 1st person because it allows me to connect with the characters on a personal level. It's easier for me to imagine myself in the story when the narrator is speaking directly to the reader. It also makes the characters more relatable and easier to empathize with

I find that with 1st POV I’m more in the shoes of the character which can be hard if its a character I don’t relate with, but amazing if I understand them and it can allow me a deeper connection with the character.
Whereas with 3rd POV there is a bit of that separation from the characters, however you get more bang for your buck because you often also get the thoughts and feelings of other characters in a given scene. I also think scene descriptions can be explained better with 3rd POV.
So as someone who has preferred 1st POV (esp dual), and really hated 3rd POV before, I say it all depends on the book and author.
Even in 3rd POV you can have multiple POV's within that ex. Crescent City series.
I also find it interesting how books used to be written in 3rd POV and somewhere there was a shift.

I don't like knowing everyone else's thoughts. 3rd person limited.
Only the MC's
If done right its good but no 3rd person omniscient
Multiple povs have my heart tho

Anyway, my personal favourites will forever be dual POVs but I am fine with a single person's too for the entire book.
also multiple pov's just make my head hurt and I really don't enjoy or follow along the book when it has more than 3 pov's
