This was a fun book, but the first half was better than the last half. There just wasn't enough foreshadowing for something that is revealed yesterday. There was a tiny bit, but not enough. There are a few other things later in the book that I thought could have been stronger as well. However, there were enough good things in this book that I can say I liked it.

However, this sort of thing might not bother you at all, since plenty of people have rated this higher than I did. Lalli has one Sikh (not conservative Sikh) and one Hindu parent, and in this book draws on the Sikh side of her family for Serena and her family.
