Book name?!??

The book is about a teenage girl who moves to the beach with her family into a run down house miles away from the town. The girl meets this boy on the beach and they become friends. They hangout all the time and I believe its either the girls sister or the boy who dies because he drowns. The sister finds a cat at one point and at another I think she got hurt somehow while with the main girl. I think the girl and boy actually might have dated or at least liked each other. Also I just put a random book because I don't know how to use this
