I have been thinking about The Wager for a while - Have you read it? and if so what "grade" do you give it?
Jacquelyn: I have had my eye on The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder for a while and will eventually get to it. I always enjoy David Grann books. I recently read his The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon and of course his Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBIBarryP wrote: "I have not, but it could happen."

We'll see.
Carol: I understand the subject manner is different. Have you watched the movie of Killers of the Flower Moon? The book was so disturbing, I haven't been able to watch it yet. I have really enjoyed the two David Grann books I have read. The other was The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon. Yes, raced out to see it when it was first released. It is disturbing but less so for me than the book, maybe because despite the horror of seeing the awful crimes realized I was prepared. It's beautifully filmed (Scorsese) and the acting (Gladstone, De Niro and DiCaprio) is top notch all around.Ann wrote: "Carol: I understand the subject manner is different. Carol, I probably will eventually watch the movie. I will have to steel myself. Right now I want to go see the new Dune. I read the books so long ago they aren’t in my book journals or Excel spreadsheets.

So I have a four star rating for Dune but no review.
Shomeret, I know I was fascinated by Dune and several of the subsequent novels including some by Frank's son Brian Herbert. I still may see if one of my old written journals might have some notes or if audible has a review of any of them. I think I probably listened to most of them on either audible or cassettes. (!) this sparks memories of downloading to one of my now obsolete devices. :)
