Fantasy, Boy absorbs magic from 2 duelling mages who both die

A non-magical street boy accidentally absorbs the magic from a red mage and a blue mage who are duelling to the death. Both magic combine in the boy to for purple magic which he then uses to help make himself a better and more educated person. He sets about rescuing someone, reforming his city and trying to save the kingdom.

nope, it was an e-book on my kindle, but I hadn't even considered that. It was definitely text only though. - I love my kindle unlimited as I can read and read and read.

SOLVED - I when I downloaded it there was a 'read' banner across one corner so I had a good feeling about it. I started reading just after 6pm and finished at 1.30am - THIS IS IT!!! I just need Mr Haddock to write the next part to it - I'm desperate to find put what happens next.
