Michele | 6354 comments Are all of these part of this series?

Or is this a different series? They look like they should all be part of the same series, but that one has books 1 and 2 which aren't on your list above at all. Can you clarify?

They should all probably be put in the same series.
The books I listed are world building off of the 2 books that you listed.

Edwina Book Anaconda | 26954 comments If you look at the 4th review (in the link below) the publisher says,

"It's the start of six ebook episodes in the world of Allen's empathetic space opera masterpieces, Fearless and Resilient."

Michele | 6354 comments Hm. If we add these to the existing two that makes eight books, not six. Can you find me a publisher site, or author site, that gives the authoritative order and numbering?

Publisher and Author websites tell nothing.
I guess we'll just skip putting them into a series or leave out Fearless and Resilient since we don't know where they fit.

My two cents: This post caught my attention because of the discussion here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

The six novellas constitute a series of 'episodes' set in the same world/series as per the covers "The Fractal Series". The publisher seems to have grouped it into a series of episodes. An unorthodox source but this is an interview by the author in which he talks about it: "Resilient sets up a lot of different stories to explore. I hope there are readers who want to find out more about a variety of the things that have happened. Our next step is to go there, so we have six shorter ‘episodes’ which cover different situations. The first will be Europa, then Ceres, then a short called Lagrange Point. Three more will follow after that." Source: https://www.runalongtheshelves.net/in...

The book descriptions for the novellas also indicate that it's the same world as Fearless and Resilient, the covers for the novellas say "The Fractal Series" not mini-series or anything like that. The full-length novels also say "The Fractal Series" so going by the rules in my opinion, the novellas/episodes should be added after 'Resilient' in The Fractal Series: https://www.goodreads.com/series/3345... The author indicates that the novellas follow the storyline after that book and they also go after 'Resilient' in publication order. They should be numbered using decimals to denote that they are novellas.

This review seems to confirm it further, although not a valid source: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The book descriptions, publication order, and series name on the covers should be enough confirmation and those are valid sources for data per the librarian manual. The covers alone indicate that they are the same series and the number of pages that they are novellas, the publication dates give us a clue of the order.

What are your thoughts?

I agree with your post completely.
Will you create the series, please?

I don't think a new series should be created but rather the novellas added to the existing Fractal series page because they are the same series, the covers don't indicate it's a new series or separate series. Per the manual: "These novellas should not be listed as primary, regardless of numbering used on other sites." https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

I guess you could create a separate series as they are a separate series on the publisher site and amazon as 'episodes' both valid sources but they could very well be added to the Fractal series as they are the same series per the covers and plot/storyline. We are always told the titles and series names should match the covers. From librarian manual: "Just as with book titles, series names should match what is on the cover of each edition."

Yes, I agree that they should be added to the other books.
My posts 3 and 4 more or less state that.
Sorry if I was unclear in my last post. I should have said add them to the series.

Tami (tamicarvallo) | 6987 comments Just to add to the references above, this is from the author's bio on Goodreads: "After Fearless, we have the sequel, Resilient (2022) then the episodes: Europa (2023), Ceres (2023) Lagrange Point (2023), Terra (2023), Luna (2024) and Jezero (2024)" I didn't think of reading the author bio until today 😄

Alright, as there don't appear to be any objections, I've proceeded to update the series page. Additionally, Book 3 was already in the database, so I've included it in the series as well. You can find the updated series page here: https://www.goodreads.com/series/3345...
