Once, there were four worlds, nestled like pages in a book, each pulsing with fantastical power, and connected by a single city: London. Until the magic grew too fast, and forced the worlds to seal the doors between them in a desperate gamble to protect their own. The few magicians who could still open the doors grew more rare as time passed and now, only three Antari are known in recent memory―Kell Maresh of Red London, Delilah Bard of Grey London, and Holland Vosijk, of White London.

But barely a glimpse of them have been seen in the last seven years―and a new Antari named Kosika has appeared in White London, taking the throne in Holland's absence. The young queen is willing to feed her city with blood, including her own―but her growing religious fervor has the potential to drown them instead.

And back in Red London, King Rhy Maresh is threatened by a rising rebellion, one determined to correct the balance of power by razing the throne entirely.

Amidst this tapestry of old friends and new enemies, a girl with an unusual magical ability comes into possession of a device that could change the fate of all four worlds.

Is he the main guy from the first book? Because I don't remember him being that old

otherwise, I haven't read the other books so I hope that doesn't mess this one up.

wow, this is already a huge cast of characters! Now I have to keep them all straight

okay, so the hand is trying to overthrow and/or move the king aside

Rhy is with the king

the brothel - Ciara I think - she knows the masked man
the Masked man gathers the hand guys together
the hand guys just stole something - but only one of them got free (and he definitely has part of the ward still working within in)
Mavis (was that her name?) is who runs the market they stole from

the first part was about a man (maybe Three) bringing a broken something (clock lol) to a 15 year old kid who repairs things

I didn't read the previous Series adjacent books so I'm glad they are giving little recaps

I like Kell. Interesting that he changes to Kay. I like his masks and, as always, I love love love his coat. to own that would be so amazing - I love the way it changes colors for worlds and the way it tends to provide

Interesting his tie to his brother, that they feel each other's pain.

Lila is a mixed bag. I like her, but she's a bit volatile. I like her crew and her amazing skills. I love that she kept the ring, I figured she did
I wonder how the mirror will play out later.

I remember the hand group from Part 1. looks like they may collide soon. I wonder what they are moving and where - I guess a large group to fight the royals? (hide spoiler)]

the stories are starting to get closer to overlapping

we have the group set to find the stolen item
we have the guy giving the stolen item to the shop
Tes and Nero and dead owl that moves lol

and then
Rhy's constant attempted murder - by the Hand group
but he's unkillable - ish but it hurts Kell

and we know the one who stole it lost the "key" that was in it

I liked the story - that he was a servant, then a someday king, and finally a saint

Interesting that Kosika rules the land - interesting about the blood tithe

so is this a different London. I don't know what color that one was.
and how it ties to all the others. definitely, there, the magic seems stronger

I liked Lark - although I assume I was possibly supposed to know more about him from the other books? (hide spoiler)]

oooh, the tithe and then the struggle for power. Interesting that she can still speak to Holland. is he forever tied to the power? Is he why they bleed?
