Greg Morgoglione (gregmorgoglione) | 17 comments I want to add my praise for and recommendation of The Page 1 Challenge for any fellow authors looking for some unique promo of their book. It's a short-form podcast with episodes coming in at under five minutes, so an easy thing for folks to listen to when you send or post the link.

The host, Jeff Soval, opens the podcast by NOT announcing the title of the book or the author's name. He just reads Page 1 of your book.

So its kind of like a blind wine tasting or something, where you don't know what wine it is or which winery it came from. You just get a little taste. If it's intriguing enough, you buy a bottle and head home to enjoy the full experience!

Of course, after reading Page 1, Jeff informs listeners of the Title and Author, and shares a little insight that the author shared with him.

In my humble opinion it's well worth the tiny bit of effort expended to apply for the Page 1 Challenge. Jeff was very quick to respond to my email inquiry, and I was quite surprised that only a few days after he confirmed my book, he posted the episode! You can listen here: https://www.thepage1challenge.com/epi...

Cheers,

Greg Allen Morgoglione

P.S. As Jeff suggests in his comment below, I definitely should add that there is NO cost! Honestly I think I have less than 20 minutes total effort expended communicating with Jeff. This is so-o-o-o worth it!

Jeff S | 22 comments Thanks Greg! The only thing I would add is that there is no cost involved. It's simply a mutually beneficial arrangement. Authors want to promote their books and I want to make podcasts. It's a win-win situation!

Donnally Miller | 21 comments Jeff,

This sounds very interesting. Could I submit my novel, The Devil's Workshop?

That looks like it would make a great podcast episode. Shoot me an email to jeff@thepage1challenge.com and I'll give you more info on what I need to get started!
