Zainab | 157 comments Hi, have some of you guys been busy because of school and can't read much. I have been so busy, and i can't read much because of that and it's upsetting because i have a goal to read a lot of books this year but i can't really do that right now
Do you guys want to share your experience too?

✧˖° Iva ✧˖° (flamegirlsreads) | 20 comments I struggle with too. It’s hard balancing the schoolwork and trying to reach my goal so just try to read small amounts everyday. I try to average around 50 pages or 5 chapters during the weekdays and then just read however much I can on the weekends.

So i recommend just trying to find an average of pages you can read in one day with a busy schedule. Over time, you will meet your goal.

message 3: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments thanks iva, that helps me a lot.
it's nice knowing there are people who struggle with reading because of school too, cause people on goodreads seems they can read all the time.

message 4: by Vanya (new)

Vanya shastri (vanyaviolet) Hey! I’m not sure if you’re open to audio books but it’s been a big game changer for me to help me read more when I’m busy! I got the Libby app (it’s totally free) all you need is a library card and you can borrow audio books whenever you like! It’s awesome cause you can find all the latest and hottest reads from any genre :)

message 5: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments vanya, that's a really good idea. Thank you so much i will definitely do that.

message 6: by jasmin (new)

jasmin | 170 comments I'm having finals rn and it's so frustrating that I don't have as much time to read, but I'm just continuously telling myself it's only two more days T-T

message 7: by anai ♡ (new)

anai ♡ | 182 comments same thing for me last semester :(
right now i’m trying to read whenever i can, like for example
i’ll read in between the time that i get home from work and before i start on my schoolwork (i do online school so that makes it a bit easier)
take advantage of school breaks! stay up late! (maybe that’s bad advice but that’s what i do bc reading = happiness)
:)

message 8: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments jasmin, good luck on your finals, and you can read after that :D

message 9: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments yess anai reading is = happiness.
you have good advices thanks.
it makes me feel great after sharing this and knowing I'm not alone.

message 10: by Maia (new)

Maia | 428 comments I find it quite hard too i usually only get 20-30 pages read a night but i try and take like half an hour of my night to read a bit like right before i go to sleep so you could maybe try that

message 11: by L (new)

L | 1 comments I totally get it! I had a huge history project due last week and I didn’t have any time to read basically for a whole week. One of my tips is to put your book somewhere where you can see it, so when you’re taking a break or you’re going to be in the car, you can read. I honestly don’t really know.

message 12: by viviana ʚ♡ɞ (new)

viviana ʚ♡ɞ (vvnareads) | 72 comments hi! i am going through the same! i also work all day so it does get tough! i tend to give myself breaks while doing homework, i usually do homework from 6-11pm depending on my workload. in that time, i read during dinner and give myself 30 minute breaks to read. good luck! you got this!

message 13: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments maia, that sounds nice. i would love to do that, thanks <3

message 14: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments elle, you're so right. The thing is, i always forgot to read and just go on my phone on my breaks, so that helps. Thanks

message 15: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments viviana guayante, oh so the key is time management. Thanks, that really helps.

message 16: by Gia (new)

Gia | 169 comments Honestly I try to read when I’m done with homework for the day, but sometimes I don’t even have time to do that, so I just read on the weekends, like it’s the only thing I do besides eat and sleep and shower. Like this week, I had an extended weekend (three days) and I managed to finish three books and got back on track for my goal.

message 17: by Vily (new)

Vily | 3 comments Yeah me too! My school gave me a lot of projects, and I often suddenly slept without read any chapter of book because I already tired. Now I'm trying manage my time to read at least 2 chapter of book everyday, and my goal is to read 12-24 books in this year, so I have to finish 1-2 books per month

Anyway, I'm a slow reader so I'm don't have a problem to finishing a book in long of time. I hope you can get solution of this problem and comeback to read again!

message 18: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments gia, that great <3

message 19: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments vily, I'm also a slow reader it's hard to read many books in one year. anyways i did get a solution from people who commented here, and they gave great advices. thanks for commenting :D

message 20: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 114 comments i have a hard time w that bc i get overwhelmed by school n j cant do anything ever, but i tend to read during school (like if ik whas going on in class, finished work, in between instuction--but I'm also really good at taking in the books information while also hearing and understanding my surroundings to idk ab that one for everyone, also in the halls between classes sometimes ill j read or finish up a chapter, also just a chapter or two before bed or while getting ready, while I'm in the bathroom (obv stay clean ab it), also i try and substitute social media and stuff for reading

message 21: by Theodora (new)

Theodora | 1 comments I totally get that, it took me 3 months to finish a book after I started sixth form 😩 but recently I have started reading on the bus to and from school and now im reading around 40/50 pages a day!! so maybe try reading on your travels?

message 22: by julia ☆ (new)

julia ☆ | 1 comments omg this is so relatable, i'm like always overwhelmed with schoolwork (i have about three tests next week) which makes it hard to balance reading with studying. ive started reading right before sleep so that i can relax and read about ten pages before bed. its not much but atleast its something !!

message 23: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments luna, that is such a talent you have. When i read in class, i don't know what's happening in my surroundings, and i get confused.
anyway, i will still read books in class. Thanks for the advice <3

message 24: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments theodora, that is such a good idea. i need to bring my book everywhere so i can read it when i can.
thanks :)

message 25: by Zainab (new)

Zainab | 157 comments julia, i hope you can read more after your tests :D.
yea, but unfortunately school can be overwhelming. it makes me warm inside when i hear people can relate to this.
thanks.

kindleprincess _ | 71 comments Try audiobooks

message 27: by Sara (new)

Sara Djaiz (sarayasmine) | 2 comments I have that same struggle, I usually read during my commute time and between classes and maybe a chapter before bed if I'm not too tired. Hope this helps!

message 28: by leila ♡ (new)

leila ♡ | 149 comments i’m currently in school full-time. what i do is try to find even five minutes of a break, just to get a few pages in. i’m a slow reader too, so i totally understand the struggle. i definitely try to make time after school (i’m big on late night reading), but i understand that people don’t always have time. overall, utilize the weekend!

message 29: by Aria Nichole (new)

Aria Nichole (aria_nichole) | 136 comments I am an English major in college, and I have to read at least 5-15 books a semester, depending on how many literature classes I take. The issue I ran into last semester is that I was reading so many depressing, dark books, that I was overcompensating for it by reading a ton of lighthearted books outside of class. And I ended up reading 30 books in one month because of it. My life around me suffered, but I could not keep reading about gore and death. I needed happiness and light. I needed a constant reminder that not all novels are these vile, gorey books. I think that not reading and reading too much is fine.

Cope the best you can. Every season of life is just that. A season. You won't always be blocked from reading. Accept where you are, and look forward to the freer days when you can curl up with a book.

♡Anastasija♡ | 12 comments Urgg… it‘s so hard to study and read so much at the same time…. But I‘m trying to read for 15 to 20 minutes a day besides studying for school and it‘s pretty good. I read mostly before going to bed. ;)

message 34: by tessa ୨୧ (new)

tessa ୨୧ (cowboylikejo) | 36 comments i always try to read for at least 15 minutes before i go to bed. some nights i don't get to do that which is okay, but usually i try to wrap up homework around 7, spend time with my fam and read for a bit after my siblings go to bed :) keeping that small amount of time for myself in the evenings has been super helpful to boost my reading!!

aubrey౨ৎ₊˚⊹ | 173 comments same!! I’ve been finding it so hard to read lately because I’m so busy with school and it takes me forever to read books even if I’m really enjoying them😩 it’s so frustrating but you’re not alone

message 36: by Deen (new)
