It didn't surprise me. I did the same thing when I tried real estate. My broker rarely knew where I was. We pulled listings, and then I took the buyers around to the various houses. My niece sells real estate now, and they have different polices. The agent meets her clients at the home and her calendar/log records the houses she showing. Unfortunately, there were too many murders of agents around the country As sick as it sounds, I like when authors take me inside the brain of the murderer. This was very gruesome, but it was realistic.
When we bought houses in the 1970s and 80s, and again in 2004, the realtor drove us to view the listings. It seemed very normal to us then, although meeting at the property could also be arranged.
This didn't surprise me as this is how I viewed all the houses before we bought a house in 2001. Now when we went looking for condos with our son - we met the broker at the buildings. So glad that they have made things more safe.
