Theresa | 15499 comments Holmes and Watson find themselves on the Devonshire Moors as they seek to nab a murderer while putting to rest a family curse and proving that a spectral giant Hound is just a dog. It has been decades since I read this or any of Doyles' actual Holmes cases. I have seen many adaptations, retellings, satires. None are as good as the original tale.

I ended up down a few Google rabbit holes as I sought out photos and info on the Devonshire Moors. Lo and behold there were the Dartmore Moors, filled with tors, hills, gorse, bracken, circles of hut ruins and even the mire that inspired Grimpen Mire. That added so much to my enjoyment!

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11060 comments I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this book too. I’m very slowly working my way through my audible collection of Sherlock Holmes books. What a bargain that was - All his books for the price of one book.

Theresa | 15499 comments I have the complete works in one hardcover volume, and it was a similar sale deal 30 or 40 years ago at B&N. Print isn't too bad either. But such a deal!
