Duplicates to delete - 84 Charing Cross Road

Hello,

Someone raised the issue in the Librarians Group discussion, and I corrected what I could, but I need a super-librarian to delete several duplicates:

You are a librarian, is there any reason you do not do this yourself?
There are very strict limits on the number of merges we can now do a day and I hit that limit almost every day. If you ask a superlibrarian to do things you can do yourself, we can't help others.

1. This edition wasn't shelved, any librarian can set the status to Invalid
2. This is an Audible with an ASIN. Merging it is against policy, so it should be combined. Not only that, if you look at the status you would see "Public (This status can't be changed as it has been set by an administrator.)",so even if we wanted, we can't do anything about it.
3. Again, not shelved, any librarian can do that
4. Again, not shelved
5. Not shleved

Sorry if I made a mistake, I didn’t know about the status. I did a Google search before posting, but all I could find was that librarians were not allowed to delete a book. I guess that changed.

I have now changed the status of the four unshelved books to Deleted. Regarding the last one (number 2), any idea why it has been locked by an admin? It lacks the author’s name and all information, has never been used, and is imho a duplicate a this one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3....

Should I just merge it with the correct version?

Regarding #1 and #3-5, it holds little significance, but generally, we designate the status of bot-created editions with ASIN only (excluding Kindle and Audible), which were not shelved, as Invalid, rather than Deleted. I wasn't aware that changing the status to Deleted was even an option.

As for #2, I was initially inclined to make a snarky remark about admins, but upon further investigation, the status was altered because it is a valid edition. You can find it on Amazon here:

The appropriate action is to rectify the details, add the author, playtime, page count etc., and combine it with the rest of the editions.

So if I rectify the empty locked one and then combine it with the right book, there will still be 2 different pages for one same version?

These are two distinct editions, as evidenced by the different ASINs. The original edition (#2) carries the ASIN B000NDFFVS, while the edition you provided a link to has ASIN B002SQ5ZFO. It's appropriate to have separate pages for these two editions, and this situation is not uncommon, especially considering that B002SQ5ZFO was manually added.

As a side note, almost every Audible title features two editions: one for the Amazon website and another for the Audible website. You can refer to the Audible page at https://www.audible.com/pd/84-Charing.... As you can see, there is a third distinct ASIN B0032N8SKQ associated with this edition. Fortunately, these editions are usually created only upon specific requests.

I understand, and I think it also has to do with the country - one is on Audible.com and the other on Audible.co.uk. Seems a shame to have them all on Goodreads as separate editions, but I guess rules are rules.
