I commit to reading Walk the Blue Line: They Walk the Line between Life and Death
by James Patterson
I'll commit to
as it's a book I own on Kindle and it's listed as Fantasy/Historical Fiction/ Romance- and a few other things, so no matter what genre we do for the genre reads of February, it will work. Plus it sounds fun and I'm kind of procrastinating some books on my list that are "good for me." And it's a Jane Eyre ( a favorite classic) kind of retelling.

"Good choice Bill! I'm reading it now and highly recommend it. I will add my political comments on my personal book updates and review!
I have 3 books to read for February group reads and will commit to the longest one (651 pages) - Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead.
I'll commit to Dear Mrs. Bird
. I've needed to read this book for awhile now. Determined to get to it.
I think I will commit to
I've been thinking about reading it for ages. Maybe now is the time to finally do it!

I finished
.
Good story, and not one I knew except in the broadest strokes. The only thing that kept jerking me out of the story is the same issue I have with most recent historical novels -- they get the details right but the language wrong. Usually -- as in this book -- it takes the form of characters saying or thinking a phrase that wasn't in use at the time.

I'd like to read this one, too Bill. She does a great interview & was so impressive during the hearing.
I'll commit to Shook! A Black Horror Anthology by Bradley Golden
It just came out, and I had to go out and buy it, so I better read it!

Finished
, gave it 4 stars. I enjoyed this book very much. Each story was about the day in the life of each officer and range from regular beat cops, state troopers, ATF, FBI Agents and SWAT. The stories make you realize that there are many more good cops out there than bad ones, and they all deserve our respect for putting their lives in danger everyday just to protect us.
Well, I DNF’d my book after ~20 pages. I might try it again later this year. I just wasn’t interested in it right now.
