I am trying to find out the title and author of 2 childhood books they may have been short stories in a book. One was about cats who had eyes getting bigger and bigger, saucer size, dinner plate size etc... the other is about a girl at the end of the garden who had furry teeth. I know that is not much to go on but it is driving me bonkers so any help would be appreciated

There's a Hans Christian Anderson story called The Tinderbox, which had a dog with eyes as big as saucers.
