Is Throne of Glass series worth a read? I have seen such mixed reviews?

If you like ACOTAR and you like Sarah J Maas' writing style then I definitely think it's worth a read! The world building is easy to follow, especially after reading ACOTAR because a lot of it is similar. It still has romance and tension, but less spicy scenes than ACOTAR. Don't stress too much about the order, you can't really go wrong with it. Probably the most common way would be to read The Assassins Blade first. This book is a series of novellas and a prequel to Throne of Glass, so this would put things in chronological order. If you want to feel a little more connected to the main character before learning her backstory, you can choose to read The Assassins Blade third, after Crown of Midnight. I did this and I liked it! I would recommend reading before Heir of Fire though.
I started with TOG series and honestly regret doing that. I think the story is great but I struggled after the 3rd installment. However, after I finished ACOTAR, I went back to TOG and I liked it a lot better. My advice to you is to keep in mind that some of the books in TOG are just better than some of the others. It's still a great read and a good story.
YES YES YESI didn't love it at first but I love it now and the Characters are so perfect and the story is insanly good and just insane cos there's so much going on all at once.
There are so many plot twists im getting whiplash
My advice is don't go into it expecting it to be just like ACOTAR because it is different. There are similar themes and vibes to ACOTAR in the later books but I think the people that don't like it are going in with the expectation that it will be exactly the same. But really, it's more high fantasy compared to romantic fantasy (in TOG - romance is a subplot, not the main plot)That being said... it's my favorite series ever and I highly, highly recommend! Go ahead and read chronologically, starting with Assassin's Blade. That's what the author recommends and it's the least confusing order.
The first two books are not the best but my personal favourite is the third one. You really start to get into the story at that point and get to see more of the world. Definitely read the series.
To be honest, I hate Throne of Glass, but then again, I hate ACOTAR too, but if you like ACOTAR, you'll probably really enjoy ToG too, so I'd suggest reading it
it was a bit of a slow start for me. I didn't love the first couple of books, but I think that's quite common. I knew I'd love the later on books and I really did. I'm still reading the series, im currently reading empire of storms and Tower of dawn ( I'm doing the tandem read). I read Assassins Blade 4th and honestly regret doing that. I feel like it took me out of the present story. I had just read heir of fire and was invested in what was going on there and so I wasn't as invested in the past at that point. I wish I read Assassins Blade 3rd. I don't personally think I would have enjoyed reading it 1st either, but you might. Reading it 4th also lowkey put me in a reading slump sadly, and i didn't start Queen of Shadows until a month later. I also don't remember much events from Heir of fire because of this which are probably important lol. But that was my experience, yours may be different. <3

I'm currently reading the ACOTAR series and loving it! I'm hoping I'll love the TOG series just as much but due to the mixed reviews, I'm worried lol!
