I am trying to read the cruel prince for the second time and im on page 39 or something and im about to dnf it again so i need someone who is able to keep me motivated :(

You can do it!! Looking at fanart helps me imagine the book better and also if you can read with music listen to a playlist that give off the vibe of the cruel prince
i tried but i think because the last year time i tried to read it I didn't like it so maby im just not motivated enough and scared i wont like it again
I loved cruel prince but I get when someone doesn't get into a book. Have you tried the audiobook, also if you don't like it that much why push yourself to read it that will only make you go into a reading slump.
@enid yeah but last year i wasn't in the right head space ( still not but anyways) I'm currently trying fantasy genre and i know that the first 100 pages is world building in most fantasy book so I thought maby if i just read through the first 100 pages i can like it :(
Omg I started reading cruel prince yesterday again after I dnf it two years ago. I just couldn’t get into it I’m barely two chapters in tho because I’ve been super sick and just sleeping constantly.

For real it was just so difficult but I know it’s so many peoples favorite book and so I want to try really bad. I do like fantasy but this book was just too hard for me to get into and like understand I guess. Also yes I’m feeling so much better today the nausea is almost completely gone so I’m hoping another day of just laying around and I’ll be basically 100%.
im also trying to gwt into fantasy and my first fantasy book i liked was this woven kingdom its so good and you dont have to wait 100 pages till the fun. and also i hope you get better fast because reading when sick brought me in reading slumps multiple times
Cruel Prince literally turned me away from fantasy for so long but I read Dance of Theives last winter and loved it so much so I started reading some more fantasy now I just feel like I need to get over this hill. And for real I barely hit my 2023 reading goal because the book slumps from being sick were never ending like I was sick every other week it felt like.
REALLY I have dance of thieves from the library and im procrastinating about reading it. and luckily i didn't get sick last year at all most of the times i got sick one time a year really badly or just not at all.
Dance of Theives is so good I read it on a band trip once upon a time and everything about it was just perfect and what I wanted in a book. It took me a second to get into because I was like worried about how long the world building would take and if I would like it or now but I loved it so much. I haven’t read a book that really lives up to it in my opinion.

In Dance of Theives the world building kinda goes throughout the book so like you get some world building but there is like action and plot built into the world building and then something happens to further the plot so a little more world building is built in. So you’re actually able to get into the book and feel like you are actually moving along in it instead of feeling like nothing is happening for like 100-150 pages.

yes a group is also good i will wait for you with reading im also a fast reader but it depends on the book if I enjoy it. I also stay up late but im not allowed my phone at night even tho im 17. but we could just update eachother whenever we read the 5 chapters but it has to be altleast ones a day I think because if the book starts to get better i can't wait days lmaoo so that time doesn't get in the way :)

oh no I really tried starting this series but gave up, its not for me!
Cruel Prince is one of my favourite fantasy books. I have read the first part thrice and never got bored. I can understand why it is difficult, it's definitely the description of the characters. It is a fey story so it had to be that way but trust me the book is awesome. You would love it. Just open the book and keep on reading. I dnf'd the book myself once because of the same issue but I stopped trying to picture everything the way it was in the book but replaced them with human-like features. The story is really amazing and yes, fanarts do help a lot! If you loved This Woven Kingdom you will definitely love this one too. It is way better and certainly more fast paced.
