SOLVED. Adult Pulp book, Crime or Secret Agent style book. Plot is about a man who either was killed or had his death faked and is now working for a secret organization, having to solve crimes or deal with criminals. [s]

Created, the DestroyerI read the book around 2004, but it was an old book then, so I think it is probalby from 80ies or 90ies.
It might be a pulp book, but not sure.
From what I can remember of the plot, it was part of a series and main character was a macho man who either was a criminal, or former cop, that was framed or did something that led him to prison and possible death row. Not 100% about that though.
He at least had no choice in working for this shadow organization, and was unable to contact home.
He had a very sarcastic attitude and had a banter relatiosnhip with his mentor that may have been a martial artist of some kind and they shared a safe house.
There was a handler of some kind, that may have been in charge of the whole organization, but could also just be his handler and was the one who gave him missions that usually involved fighting crime or criminal organizations.
