DW Rowlands | 6 comments I'm _fairly_ sure that the two hardcover editions of What's Your Pronoun?: Beyond He and She, by Dennis Baron are duplicates, and that the one listed with NEOm as the publisher is an error produced by importing Amazon data. (I fixed the title, which originally had the author's name and format in it in a way that seemed to indicate that it was an Amazon publisher, and I can't find evidence that there is a separate hardcover edition published by "NEOm."

Assuming this is correct, could someone merge them? I think that, in theory, I should be able to, but I've been unable to separate out the correct (Liveright) edition to a separate work to allow a merge.

David Raz (davidraz) | 12812 comments I went ahead and did the merge, but you are a librarian and the redundant edition was only shelved twice. Was there any reason you couldn't do that yourself?

DW Rowlands | 6 comments My understanding is that to merge two editions, you first have to separate them into a separate work, then merge, then move them back into the main work, right? I had tried that, but it wouldn't let me remove one of them from the main work.

David Raz (davidraz) | 12812 comments If you are going merge with the main edition, there is no reason to split since that's where the reviews will go anyway.

Also, you cannot split the main edition, you will need to separate all the rest of the editions from it. This has nothing to do with being a superlibrarian, you can do it yourself.

DW Rowlands | 6 comments Ah: "main edition" means the one listed first under the work? I'm still new to this and hadn't realized that was what was going on. Thank you for explaining!

David Raz (davidraz) | 12812 comments Yes, the one appearing first and the one you cannot split away. A better name would be "most popular edition".
