There's the book Child of the Mist that is set in Scotland. I haven't read it myself and it sounds like a romance, so it might not be for you.

Have you ever read any of George MacDonald's books? They are classics set in Scotland. Some of my favorites are Sir Gibbie or Baronet's Song, and Donal Grant or The Shepard's Castle. Maiden's Bequest is one of my all time favorites. The ones edited by Michael Phillips are the best.

I wonder if anyone has got suggestions for good Christian historical romance novels, that takes place during the 18th century?
It's one of my favorite centuries, unfortunately most secular stories from it are very immoral.

I suggest Dilly Court for 18th century England and for the war years Sarah Sundin's romances. Both authors are wonderful storytellers with a good knowledge of history in those eras.
