Well, he was a hero after all, it was his story as much as it was Wax's, but we just kept forgetting that because he always seemed to follow Wax, but the series was named The Wax&Wayne series for a reason.
As for the Mistborn era 1 vs 2 atmosphere I absolutely love how the characters we knew and loved became the mythology of the next era.
It was just so awesome to see that in moments of doubt, Marasi would wonder to herself if the Acendant Warrior has felt doubt or pain like this, and it's crazy because we just know how painful Vin's story is.
Brandon truly pulled off the most incredible time jump I've ever encountered in fiction, and to make it like the world truly and naturally evolved without feeling like anything is forced or out of place is just some genuis writing.

And since we're talking about our favorite parts of era 2, I need to say that the appearance of Thaidakar and the Ghostbloods was one of the most incredible twists in the whole series, tying in era1, era2, Elantris and the Stormlight archive all together. Insane stuff!!
Could not agree more!!! The Ghostblood reveal was crazy!! I’m actually very surprised Marasi didn’t end up joining them.
But yea Steris is so underrated, I loved her character development and her and Wax’s somewhat unexpected romance, they make a great team.
I’m so excited to see how era #3 plays out and how Sanderson handles the next time jump/evolution

I believe era 3 will be revolving around the Ghostbloods and Thaidakar after another long time jump, so it's probably going to be on a technologically advanced Scadrial, like ALLOMANCY BUT WITH LASER GUNS???
I love how the story in Mistborn and the Cosmere in general is slowly going from fantasy to sci fi! It's without a doubt the most ambitious book series I've ever come across.
So true about marasi…
I’ve heard rumors that it might be set in like just pre computer world but I could be wrong!! I absolutely love this switch too, it’s something no other fantasy author has ever done, as far as I’m aware

All I can say is that I hope that Sanderson lives a long healthy life☺

Era 4 is going to be future tech and cosmere wide. *spoiler for many of the secret projects and short stories* but technology across the the cosmere is advancing and a few of our favorite planets are going to be on the opposite side of an intergalactic war

I'm reading the Sunlit Man now Peter, and all these connections are staggering me. It's all turning into an alloy of sci fi and fantasy and I'm loving it!

Brandon Sanderson had better live to finish these off. No Wheel of Time for him, no one could wrap it up as well as he could. A part of me just wishes he could write forever...

same. very much same. If Kaladin dies idk what I will do but BRANDON SANDERSON IS NOT GETTING AWAY WITH THAT
I also find the kind of Wild West/cowboy-esque or even steam punk at times setting to be sooo cool and super different from the original fantasy setting!
Overall, it is so different from era #1 yet still incorporates elements in such a nuanced way.
MAJOR LOST METAL SPOILER AHEAD
Also I’m in LOVE with Wayne’s character, his banter, his childhood backstory, his growing complexity throughout the series, and his intense goodheartedness… his death nearly BROKE me, I have never cried so hard for a book before!!
