If Something Happens to Me
I own Every Last Fear and read The Night Shift. I don't have What Have We Done, but it's still on my TBR.

I really liked Night Shift and What Have We Done (4/5 for both). I haven't read Every Last Fear yet.
Funny, I was thinking that I might want an audio of this one. Then, I went back to read my review of The Night Shift. I was basically complaining about one of the narrators. lol Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

How about May 1 for a start date? Does anyone have another preference?

Wait what's the cipher game? that sounds so cool, but I can't find anything by googling.

Here's the write-up:
In Alex Finlay's newest thriller, a cipher found submerged in a lake becomes a major clue in solving a murder. See if you can crack this cipher below!
How to Enter
Step 1: Read the cipher.
Step 2: Find seven words that will form your answer by using the digital galley of the book from NetGalley and locating the chapter, paragraph, and word for each. For example, for Word 1 below, you'll turn to the third chapter, find the eight paragraph in the chapter, and select the second word in the paragraph.
Step 3: Once you locate the seven words, enter them into the sweepstakes form below. Good luck!
Cipher Key: Chapter number, paragraph number, word number in the given paragraph:
Word 1: 3, 8, 2
Word 2: 29, 22, 45
Word 3: 24, 5, 48
Word 4: 33, 2, 15
Word 5: 65, 4, 23
Word 6: 4, 15, 16
Word 7: 11, 25, 14

Ooh this is fun! Does anyone want to move up our read date to make sure we have time to participate?

The chapters are short and fast, but I don't feel like the story is moving quickly at all.

Bummer that you didn't like it more Shruti. I hope it works for me.
Also starting tomorrow. I got the audio copy in addition to the ebook. Hopefully that will help if it starts to lose steam.

Elyse, I'll be curious to see what you end up thinking of it.
The only Finlay I have read so far is The Night Shift. I still have Every Last Fear (which I own) and What Have We Done on my TBR.

I read What Have We Done and gave it 4 stars.
I have not read Every Last Fear, but I think if I really like this one, I will have to add it to my TBR.

Yes! The sudden loss of steam was so disappointing for me. :(

Exactly!
That's disappointing to see. I'm up to chapter 15 (25%). I'm enjoying it, but still sorting out all the characters and what I think of them.

I'm up to chapter 56 (71%) and it hasn't slowed down for me yet. So far I'm really enjoying this one.

For the past five years, Ryan Richardson has relived that terrible night. The car door ripping open. The crushing blow to the head. The hands yanking him from the vehicle. His girlfriend Ali’s piercing scream as she is taken.
With no trace of Ali or the car, a cloud of suspicion hangs over Ryan. But with no proof and a good lawyer, he’s never charged, though that doesn’t matter to the podcasters and internet trolls. Now, Ryan has changed his last name, and entered law school. He's put his past behind him.
Until, on a summer trip abroad to Italy with his law-school classmates, Ryan gets a call from his father: Ali's car has finally been found, submerged in a lake in his hometown. Inside are two dead men and a cryptic note with five words written on the envelope in Ali’s handwriting: If something happens to me…
Then, halfway around the world, the unthinkable happens: Ryan sees the man who has haunted his dreams since that night.
As Ryan races from the rolling hills of Tuscany, to a rural village in the UK, to the glittering streets of Paris in search of the truth, he has no idea that his salvation may lie with a young sheriff’s deputy in Kansas working her first case, and a mobster in Philadelphia who’s experienced tragedy of his own.
In classic Alex Finlay form, If Something Happens to Me is told from several distinct, compelling characters whose paths intersect, detonating into a story of twist after pulse-pounding twist. The story cements Finlay as one of the leading thriller writers today.
