Alexa | 64 comments I just finished yumi and wow, I have so many feelings now lol

Alexa | 64 comments When it was revealed that Liyun was a nightmare and Yumi has been living the same day for 2 thousand years, I swear my jaw dropped

Marwan | 133 comments Haha you got the Yumi&Painter treatment!
First book to almost make me cry in a while. I shipped Yumi and Painter so hard that when I thought Yumi was going to die for real it broke my heart and I teared up. Then Nikaro pulls out the brush and paints her back into reality and kisses her and I'm left looking just like this😐 Sanderson likes playing with emotions like that. The storming genius!
And secrets, he likes playing with secrets too, you'll never see the twists coming in any of these books, just sit tight and get ready for the inevitable punch!

Marwan | 133 comments Little question though. Are you aware of who Hoid is by now? Because he narrates Tress and Yumi and I'm wondering because I forgot when in my reading of the Cosmere did I become aware of him as recurring character.
So is he just another guy to you by now or do you have an idea about him? If not then I won't spoil AND DO NOT SEARCH😂

Alexa | 64 comments Yes it was such a beautiful and emotional ending and I just loved the story so much.

So I don’t know 100% who hoid is and I have not looked anything up but I do have some theories which I may be right or wrong on.

I feel like he is some kind of omnipotent being who is present on all these different planets or timelines to witness the stories.
I have no idea if I’m right about this or not but I get serious Houd vibes from Wit in Stormlight, idk if that’s right or not I have only read half that series so far.

Not sure if Hoid is in Mistborn, though I’m sure he will be I’m not sure yet how he is in it, I’m excited to see.

So yea I’m not entirely sure but I feel like at this point he’s some kind of powerful being in the Cosmere.

Marwan | 133 comments You got some right and some wrong but great theories nevertheless!! Hoid is one of the most mysterious characters in this series and I'm excited to see how you perceive him along the story, so be sure to share whenever you have an idea.

Alexa | 64 comments Ohh I got some right??? Hmmmm. Good to know

I feel like once I started reading the secret projects I started making Hoid connections back to Stormlight, especially after Yumi. I’m really excited to see how he shows up in Mistborn.

Marwan | 133 comments That's an interesting way of thinking about it. most people read SA and Mistborn first but you went the other way and it sounds pretty interesting. You might notice a lot of stuff that I missed now that I think about it!

message 11: by Alexa (new)

Alexa | 64 comments I guess that’s another fun thing about how he wrote the Cosmere is that they’re so well connected no matter how you choose to create your Cosmere reading timeline, there’s always connections and links you can make between the books. So cool!

Marwan | 133 comments Very true!

Hoid lived before Adonalsium was made into the shards, he held the Dawnsahrd which made him immortal and he is a Knight Radiant. I know he is thousands of years old... I'm not sure what other powers he has however, though I think he has some Elantrain?

message 14: by Marwan (new)

Marwan | 133 comments *Spoilers*

He does have Elantrian magic

The same thing happened to me haha. When Yumi died I was in tears and yeah it broke my heart but then she wasn't dead and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH man Brandon Sanderson sure knows what he's doing 🥲
