But he has to navigate the consequences of other's actions in an attempt to make it through the day and escape unhurt and become someone adults have told him he can be.

After reading this, I just sat and let all the feelings wash over me. In the end, I mostly felt relief and bittersweet happiness. These characters seemed doomed from the start because of circumstances beyond their control. They suffered physical, mental and emotional injuries difficult to come back from. But if you're a betting person, put your money on the underdog. They can come back and supercede your wildest imaginings with a bit of help and guidance in the right direction. Mr. Hutton was a wonderful guardian angel for lost and abused souls. It was a great story for the underdogs of the world and the rest too- lessons learned.
