It's an adult romance and part of a series. Hero's real name is Daniel, nicknamed Diesel, no longer can drive due to a very bad crash, became a recluse. Heroine's name is Tuesday. She's a writer whose father recently died of cancer. He donated a prized race car that he renovated to her for a fundraising to benefit cancer research. They're opposite attract. He's a taciturn but gentle man; she's a blunt, opinionated, big mouth but also has big heart. She is verging on becoming an alcoholic. They went to a drive-in to watch Disney's Lady and the Tramp, which was her childhood favorite but they both disliked very much now.

Before the father died, he interviewed the hero on the crash. Heroine used the notes father left behind to write the article. That's the point when I accidentally deleted the audiobook, so I don't know how the story ended.
