Τελχίνας (aaraigathor) | 347 comments Proper title & edition is "Το Σκάκι: Πλήρης Ανάπτυξη της Θεωρίας και η Πρακτική της Εφαρμογή": https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

Duplicate: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Also the publisher is "Αποσπερίτης" without word "Εκδόσεις". Thanks in advance!

David Raz (davidraz) | 12797 comments Done, as best as I could without any knowledge of the language

Τελχίνας (aaraigathor) | 347 comments Thank you David! It's just the name of the author that is "Τριαντάφυλλος Σιαπέρας" and you just removed his first name...

Besides that, the same author wrote a 2nd book that its title should be corrected as "Το Σκάκι 2: Θεωρία και Πρακτική": https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

Can those two connected as a mini series called "Το Σκάκι"; As you can see by the cover, the 2nd has numbering, declaring that series. I know it's not your rsponsibility, but I'm asking you if you could as we speak now about those, because librarians are generally absent these weeks ( https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ) and it's futile to add it over there...

David Raz (davidraz) | 12797 comments The name on the cover is T. Σιαπέρας, so that's what we use.
I corrected the title of the 2nd book and created the series.

Τελχίνας (aaraigathor) | 347 comments Thank again David! By the way, that's definitely a bad rule that "Goodreads" should consider to change sometime... There are many authors, translators, editors etc. that is very difficult for anyone to discover. It could be very difficult to find information on their proper full names. Internet is one source, others would be magazines, studies in books, encyclopedias, even fanzines. If you do this way (erasing a name given), the information goes wasted and this platform besides the books/magazines each of us read, uses a database. And databases need data! It's completely unreasonable to refuse to enter data into a database. I am referring to what prevails in general, not specifically to your participation in all this!

P.S. The proper publisher is "Αποσπερίτης", as you did in the 1st book! Can you please correct that too?

David Raz (davidraz) | 12797 comments This is not the place to discuss site policy. I would point out Herbert George Wells, Thomas Stearns Eliot, Clive Staples Lewis and Joanne Rowling as some examples that should be considered when discussing this rule (elsewhere, please don't continue the discussion here).

I added the full name to the author bio page.

I corrected the publisher name per your request.

Τελχίνας (aaraigathor) | 347 comments I believe addition of full name in his profile would be suffice for now. Thanks again David!

David Raz (davidraz) | 12797 comments I had a look and for the one edition where details were provided, I did the merge. If you want more assistance, repost with more details at the superlibrarian folder.
