message 1: by Persnickety (new)

Persnickety | 7 comments I have gone 100% ebook. I didn’t think I would ever do this but reading in bed is easier when I can increase the font size and not have to wear glasses 😂
Also my favourites are close at hand when I want to re-read them. Nothing worse than an itch to read a book that is boxed up because the bookshelves are overflowing. However, I do sometimes miss the tactile feel of a “real” book.
I’m interested to see how many are still reading physical books.

message 2: by Evelien (new)

Evelien | 2 comments It depends whether the books I want to read are available as ebook. So somewhere between 95 to 100% are ebooks. I switched to ebooks about 6 years ago and I never regretted it. Because of issues with my eyes and wrists reading ebooks is the best solution.

message 3: by Zoe Anne (new)

Zoe Anne M (theboundlessbookworm) | 98 comments 100%. As much as I would want to collect physical books so I can pass them on to my children's children, it doesn't seem doable at this point. Ebooks have been my constant for a while. Reading on my kindle is kinder to my eyes so at least that's an advantage.

message 4: by Geloü (new)

Geloü I would say it is about 85% ebooks now. I just recently discovered Libby while using my Kobo but now I'm totally enjoying the benefits of being able to borrow books from my public library.

message 5: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessacumberlandcountypa) Thanks for asking, Persnickety. I've never read an ebook but I can see the advantage of being able to adjust font size and brightness of the page. I'm no longer reading teeny tiny printed materials.

message 6: by Daniele (new)

Daniele (danielezan) | 25 comments I read 50%/50%. E-books on Kindle. I travel quite a bit, and e-books are more practical in this case.

message 7: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 11 comments Recently i've been reading more ebooks than actual books, so about 75%. It's easier to access and doesn't take up much space, especially when you're on holiday.

message 8: by Chris (new)

Chris St Laurent | 120 comments Depends I like both.

message 9: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Williamson | 5 comments I'm at about 75% ebook. I'm down to just under 100 physical copies and I'm hoping to get through a good chunk of those this year and go completely to ebook.

message 10: by Pam (new)

Pam Sears | 1 comments I’m 100% an e-reader. I love books but can no longer see the print so I use my Kindle because I can blow up the size of the text. I do miss turning the pages and the smell of a book!

message 11: by Hanna (new)

Hanna | 1 comments Perhaps 80% audiobook but I'm trying to read more physical books in 2024

message 13: by Rhys_Girl (new)

Rhys_Girl | 16 comments 100% although 30 books a year isn't much but I'm happy I completed it

message 14: by Susanne (new)

Susanne | 102 comments Probably about 75% ebooks for me. I was gifted a kindle a 4 years ago & it really boosted my ebook reading. Also, I've run out of space for print books!

message 15: by Jaimy (new)

Jaimy | 3 comments 0

message 16: by Jeanine (new)

Jeanine | 80 comments Less than 5%.
I prefer reading physical books.

message 17: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments Zero percent e-books/Kindle..
I prefer hardcovers.
Never liked paperbacks.

Audio books cause quite a problem, because they don't have chapters and you cannot fast forward them either. You are forced to listen one hour until the disk is finished or you have to start all over again on the next day.

☆EmilyEverAfter☆ (emilyeverafter) | 102 comments I read 100% of books off my Kindle.

message 19: by karissa m (new)

karissa m | 139 comments 5%. I use Libby to read some of my manga, but eventually I would like to get a Kindle and read more ebooks.

message 20: by Tarynla☾ (new)

Tarynla☾ | 80 comments I want to say 85% ebooks. It takes up less space in my apartment and I can read on the go more consistently. But I still love physical books so I’ll read them from time to time. I used to love hardcover books but now I’m seeking paperbacks.

message 21: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments But books are the nicest wallpaper! :)

message 25: by Ryebread (new)

Ryebread 5%

message 26: by Abi (new)

Abi | 104 comments I have LOADS of ebooks so I'm slightly disappointed in myself in how much I read them. I'd say about 10% but I wanna get that up to at least 30% this year for many reasons tbh.

message 27: by Dave (new)

Dave | 41 comments I'd guess 85% of the books I read are on my Kindle.

Paul (Stephen King's version) | 23 comments 100% save the trees

message 29: by Stella (new)

Stella | 16 comments 2%

message 30: by Azari (new)

Azari (azarvyx) | 25 comments I've only just gotten back into ebooks since I prefer having physical copies, but I hope to make it 40% ebooks and 60% physical, vs the 10/90 that it is now

~Shawna the crazy coffee reader~ (shawnac42010) | 3 comments I would say 90% e-book but prior to 2023 it was 100%

message 32: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl Currie | 37 comments i would say is 60% books and 40% ebooks. i love my kindle i really do but there is just something about getting a new book lol

message 33: by Barb (new)

Barb Hogan | 11 comments Probably 90%

message 34: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Silva | 12 comments Ultimately, the rate is about 90%, my commutes are pretty long and unconfortable, so, is much easier for me to only carry my kindle, cause i've been reading multiple books at once.

message 35: by Ria (new)

Ria (riawu) | 1 comments 90% of my books are eBooks, 10% are books from Barnes and Nobles that I've decided to treat myself to.

message 36: by Diane (new)

Diane I'd say 90% of my reading is done by eBooks...I still love a physical book but eBooks are cheaper!😬

message 37: by Sara (new)

Sara A | 1 comments 5% or so. I really love having an actual book in my hands, but sometimes it's nice to have my small kindle.

message 38: by Brandie (new)

Brandie | 1 comments Eighty percent probably, with the rest being audiobooks. I prefer my e-reader to physical books because it's easier on my eyes since I can adjust the font style and size.

message 39: by Sonali (new)

Sonali Roy | 42 comments As liku all 90% would have been e-books but I just found a wonderful library in my village I am currently staying.

message 40: by curlysreads (new)

curlysreads | 7 comments 100% cause it's more environmentally friendly and it's cheaper too

message 41: by han (new)

han (hanhantap) | 14 comments According to my data from last year, I read 54% of my books as ebooks, 29% as physical books, and 18% as audiobooks.

message 42: by gojenn (new)

gojenn I’m about 50-50 audiobooks and ebooks. I read one physical book last year (out of 96).

Mrs C cavell-sibley | 2 comments very few. I find screen books and audio books difficult to digest. Prefer a good old fashioned book

message 45: by Lori (new)

Lori (bookworm82) | 0 comments 50% ebooks, 45% audiobooks, 5% physical books, only because electronic books are easier to access and carry with me everywhere.

message 46: by { rosina } (new)

{ rosina } | 28 comments I'd say it's like 65% physical books and 35% ebooks

message 47: by Janice Dudley (new)

Janice Dudley | 31 comments 100% ebooks for me as I have arthritis in my hands/fingers so I find it painful to hold books. Also it’s far easier to take my kindle than 20 books when we go on holidays.

message 48: by amelia (new)

amelia (stxfhs) 100% :)))

message 49: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 116 comments None!! I’d rather read with a physical copy of the book!
