Libby (adjoas) | 90 comments In 2023 I read 60 books and will attempt to go for 86 for 2024. My focus is on books I own and ones that have been on my TBR for ages. I’ll also be doing 5 challenges this year. Usually I fail at completing them but this time around I want to stay dedicated to these challenges and make sure I’m also enjoying what I’m reading. I find that sometimes book challenges can bring unnecessary stress and pressure to complete so I’m determined to find a way to keep things balanced. There’s a way to be competitive (with yourself) while having fun.

I’ll be making separate posts below for each challenge and will update accordingly.

Progress: 10/86

I completely agree, Libby. There's something about being in a community where everything is book that brings out the competitive mentality to the forefront. It's one of the reasons why I always set my Goodreads goal to 1 book 😂.

I think it's great that you're aiming for that balance this year though. And from the looks of it you're making great progress.
I'm actually curious what you thought of Recitatif? For some reason I don't feel like there's a lot of people that have read it, although that's obviously not true seeing as it has +23k ratings, and 3k reviews, but it feels as though I never noticed it on anyone's shelves until I read it myself.

Wishing you the best of luck with your reading goal in 2024. I hope you discover lots of amazing books.
Happy reading!
