Sarah | 18550 comments I use zotero too, Sandra, for uni, to help with my referencing. Although, I'm out of practice with it so need to get back on it now term has started.

message 702: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments I discovered it only in my third semester and it took some time to add all the books and articles I had read by then. Now I keep it updated and it is working for me great so far.

message 703: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Is it similar to Endnote?

I'm looking for something for all my random notes though, not book-related :)

message 704: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Never tried Endnote, but Zotero is book specific, so I guess not what you need.

message 705: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I'm using note book by zoho which if free. You can have different notebooks and then within each one you can add notes which display like post it notes on the screen in that notebook. I'm sure there are other functions as well.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Thanks Sandra! It looks nice and has good reviews :)

Do you know if it syncs between devices (like my phone and my tablet)?

I thing this questions was actually for Sarah, but in case I'm wrong, you can create an account in Zotero and use it in more than one device.

message 708: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments If it was for me, I'm not sure about syncing, although it does use your google account for logging in so i guess it will sync. I only have it on my tablet at the moment as I've only used it for something specific.

message 709: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Oops yes, I meant Sarah! Thanks both though :)

Saar The Book owl | 2650 comments I don't know if anyone has heard of Bookfunnel? Apparently this is an app where you can get the books that are on it, to be put on your Kindle. I've recieved a free book and istalled the app, but don't really now how to transfer the book to my Kindle or Kindle app. I've tried, but I think I might do something wrong.

message 711: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I've never heard of it Saar.

message 712: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I just made the most amazing discovery! There's this bookshop a 3-minute walk from my house. I've been there once or twice with my nephew, it was always a children's book store.

I recently found out that they now also have a large selection of adult books, and English books! So I just went there and it's amazing. It's super cozy, you can also sit somewhere and have a coffee and some cake. They have a fantastic selection of books, it felt like everything I have on my wishlist was there. It's like what heaven would look like for me. I'm proud to say I limited myself to two books (gives me reason to return soon ;-)).

And also, every last Thursday of the month, they open up in the evening so you can go read there. Talking and phones are not allowed, you just bring your own book and can read offline in silence for 2 hours. I think I'm going to try that out sometime.

message 717: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments That sounds amazing, Peggy. A dream come true. I am very jealous lol. The monthly reading evening sounds great. I've seen a few cafes have started doing this, mostly in Europe, mowhere near me unfortunately. Well done on limiting yourself. What a find!

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments That sounds like a great haven, Peggy!

message 719: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments That's wonderful. Peggy! I would love to have a place like that close to me. We have a small independently owned book store in my area and I love to support them, but they are just over a 30 minute drive away and I'm never in that part of town so it's not really convenient. The quiet reading time at your book store is a great idea, especially if there is coffee and cakes! Such an excellent find and so close. I'm sure you'll visit often.

message 720: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 2650 comments That sounds like an amazing place, Peggy, and so tempting nearby! We don't have this yet here, only 2 YA - book clubs for the age until 23 or something (1 in the library and 1 in a bookstore), but I've received an email from my bookstore asking my opinion about starting an English book club. They have now one for books translated or written in Dutch, but the interest in English books is growing fast.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Lol! Never, Margo. Never!

message 734: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments haha this year has gone so fast. I might actually join in next year, I ended up reading more books this year than I thought. Not totally back to the level I used to be at but finding it much easier now.

message 735: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Lol Margo, I think there were years when the bugging started early October, so I think it's about time ;-)

I'm with you Sarah. I did not do any group reads or challenges for a long time, at least a year. But I find myself craving to read more and more again, so I might join in again next year too.

message 736: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments We can cheer each other on then!

Kristie | 19148 comments Oh!!! A hint, a hint!! 😁

message 740: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments Sarah, I haven't even finished my first badge for the yearly this year. I'm almost there... just need to read one more after the one I'm reading now. But, it's been a challenge.

message 741: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments So close Kristie! I am sure you'll make it. Some years it just goes like that.

I have never been very good with Janice's hints haha

message 742: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments I'll get there. I'm almost done this book and the next one just has to be between 400 & 450 pages.

I'm also not great at figuring out the clues and I have no ideas for this one either. I'm curious to see what other people come up with though.

message 743: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments I've been focusing on finishing the 2nd badge, that everything else is on hold, including the 2025 challenge. It's going to be tight for both of them.

Jayme | 4519 comments I'm there too, Janice. Trying to knock out this second badge :)

Yay a clue! But there's no need to get in a flap or fly off the the handle Janice, just keep paddling and you'll swan past the finish line.

Sorry, couldn't resist the bad puns😂

message 747: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments LOL! Too funny Margo. I almost did get in a flap when I realized November will be over in a blink.
