Not sure how accurate that is... I think the author is italian?... the patreon page loaded in italian... it looks like Patreon gets chapters about 15 chapters ahead of Royal Road, and when Royal Road finishes releasing a book, it turns into ebook/audio within a few months?...

Haven't found a blog or anything with info on expected series length... there's a discord that might have answers, but I think it's linked to patreon support... hopes/expects to be recovered by LitRPG Con in July...

Narilka | 5728 comments Weird! I assumed the author was Australian since the MC is lol I found the Patreon and it loaded in English for me. The About page is very sparse. It looks like a place to watch though for future books.

GR is showing more than Amazon... not sure what to make of that... maybe patrons posting, or Haylock himself posting book page?

Narilka | 5728 comments The author is pretty active on Reddit. I found this!

https://www.reddit.com/r/ProgressionF...

The important bit: "I've signed for up to book 6 with Podium, and I believe the contract will be extended to 10~ books in this series."

In other news the author of HWFWM is in hospital and very ill. I think you all are reading that one? Hopefully he recovers soon - https://www.reddit.com/r/litrpg/comme...

I think someone mentioned he was ill and he was telling fans to stop their Patreon subscriptions, since he couldn't write at the moment... I'm sure superfans haven't cancelled, and want to support him regardless...

10 books sounds like potentially 3 trilogies and a finale for Heretical Fishing... thanks for the info...

Shirtaloon's hospitalization sounds like something in the vein of metabolic acidosis... from his comment later down the reddit post...

Hopes to be recovered by LitRPG Con in July...

Wellp… the GPU in my old 2012 PC overheated and started artifacting… this has been a long time coming but sucks…

Initially, it was uniseable, but it’s kinda useable now after powering off for a few minutes and using a can of duster in PC case… PC loaded up without resolution settings and stuff, kinda like safety mode, with red and blue lines flickering all over the place…

Functional enough to load up ipod with books I need for the week and start transferring my 500GB of ebooks and audiobooks to my 5TB external storage, along with documents and important files for new PC to have easy access to… luckily I have a PC waiting to be built and setup… that’s my project for this weekend, all of a sudden… kinda feels like when my apartment flooded, until I get this resolved… just have mobile devices for doing things on wifi…

My plan B has been in progress so long I could but a new new PC… I just refused t he hassle of moving to new PC and transferring/redownloading everything… now my hand has been forced… took 5hrs to transfer 450GB of audiobooks and important files to external ssd… making new windows 11 install USB now… parts are all screwed and slotted together in PC, just need to connect all the connectors and power cords and clean it up and try bootup/setup after a break and some cooking… hopefully have something half functional by morning…

I got PC assembled and CPU/RAM issues ... And I was expecting Graphics card issues because I possibly damaged some of the gold connectors trying to get it back out to plug in fans and power buttons on case to motherboard... Probably a myriad of issues caused by user error and time unused and possible water/humidity damage from when ceiling leaked in 2022/2023, etc... gonna give it a final shot to fix/get working tonight, had to pause and buy rubbing alcohol to reapply thermal paste to CPU after disassembling and resetting parts... In the meantime I did a lot of research on best available prebuilts and found a really good one for 1200 through best buy... It sold out in the past 24hrs tho...

Started spiraling like Nirkatze mentioned... Considered a stopgap laptop for basic needs... Options not great... Considered buying semi-old graphics card for old PC and trying to keep that working a bit longer... Hard to pick one with any sort of reviews that didn't seem iffy... Decided to try googling the sold out PC from bestbuy and found the same PC being sold by the manufacturer through the Walmart Marketplace that lets you buy online and return through local Walmart if there's any issues... AND it'll be shipped 1 week faster... May 16th instead of 23rd for expected delivery... So I bought it, and finally feeling confident about returning to some sort of normal sooner than later...

I've honestly gotten so used to living within the limitations of my old 2012 PC the past few years, as it's ability to do anything but talk on Goodreads, download audiobooks, and play super light casual games with next to no graphical demands bogged it down... My numerical idle/clicker games and digital coloring books and jigsaw puzzles and picross/minesweeper type games...

The most demanding thing I'm excited to do on a new PC, and have been for awhile now (months), is being able to play heavily modded Terraria without running out of RAM/memory...

I'm pretty sure I already knew about Operation Bounce House... Was it mentioned in the live streams when Jeff Hays was cold reading TIR?... The premise sounds familiar... Gamers playing a Real Time Shooter game like Call of Duty, but the scenarios are real...

I've had a week from hell... From PC overheating last Saturday, and planned purchase selling out and delisting on Walmart and best buy websites (finally picked a replacement last night, should arrive by the end of the month)... Then on Tuesday Night at work I dropped my last iPod on a concrete floor and dislodged something important to powering the iPod and it completely died in 60 seconds...

Then on Wednesday night a bit of rainwater made it past my front door due to drain blockage during heavy storm, but I got lucky on that one and just threw away the welcome mat when drying it led to it getting soaked outside in a different storm...

Then on Thursday morning I had some concerns about my car tires and took them to air pump and proceeded to fumble my way down to a car tire with 3 psi, before figuring out what I was doing wrong and inflating tires...

Started using Bluetooth earbuds with the phone I haven't liked for 5 years, and now I can do like 2x the reading at work, and caught up on all the reading I fell behind on last weekend...

Still 2 days behind, but I can probably even catch up fully soon, because I WAS 3-4 days behind mid-week...

Now that I use Bluetooth earpods at work, I feel like I'm cheating... My reading is way up, since I can listen like 90% of my workday this way... At 3-3.5x speed... Easily finishing 20-25hr audiobooks... I might try that 2nd popular android app soon, that goes to 4x speed (Smart only goes to 3x, but I definitely like some it's other features)

Should finally have time to finish Mother of Learning and Only Villains Do That, soon

message 2081: by Narilka (new) - added it

Narilka | 5728 comments I just finished Heretical Fishing 3. That was great! (view spoiler)

I've been debating my next audio. Mother of Learning is a candidate. Did you pause at book 2? I remember you enjoyed what you read so far, just forgetting where you stopped.

Its also probably time to remind you to go catch up on reviews :D

message 2082: by Narilka (new) - added it

Narilka | 5728 comments The other audio I'm eyeing is Azarinth Healer: Book One. It's narrated by Andrea Parsneau, LitRPB, currently has 5 books in the series and I saw it recommended by Ilona Andrews. Anyone interested in this as a candidate for a Vagabond read?

I'm leaning towards Mother of Learning since it's a completed series as I'm not sure how many books are planned for Azarinth Healer yet. Need to do some internet searching.

I really like Mother of Learning... Only reason I haven't finished is because I have like 22k pages of BRs each month and if my daily reading falls below 750 pages I fall behind and have no extra time...

Thanks to Bluetooth, my May average is creeping up to 800+, fast...

If you read Mother of Learning I'll definitely be around to discuss...

If you try Azarinth Healer, the first audiobook is only like 3.42$ with Whispersync, so I'm definitely open to trying it...

Reddit says Azarinth Healer is a punchy healer, so there's healing somewhere in that plot at some point (maybe life leech?)

Noice... I highly approve... This is one of the better time travel / time loop series I've stumbled upon, which is why it's been such a shame that I've been so overbooked the past 2 months as I adjusted to returning to overnights and sleeping extra... Altho it seems some of that might have been a vitamin D deficiency... Just got prescribed some ultra high weekly vitD to compensate, and then regular OTC vitD daily after 3 months... I wonder if that's also linked to my recent issues with knee/etc pain the past year...

ANYWAY... Looking forward to you starting and compensating... I'll be squeezing in book 3 sometime this week when I feel caught up on BRs...

Don't worry / expect much from the unwanted/unrealized romantic plotlines in the first iteration... The MC quickly figures out how to dodge those entanglements in future loops...

Just found news that Daily Grind wasn't successful enough to keep doing KU and Audible releases... Sad... I'm sure part of the problem was the heavy release schedule, not giving much time to find audio fans and momentum, for people that didn't want to be using half their yearly credits on the series if they only get 1 credit per month...

Plenty more on Royal Road for people that have time for eye reading I think...

At this point I'm pretty much caught up on BRs... Doing one mystery anthology purposely slowly, 1 BR I'm technically 2 days behind on, several I've finished I'm ahead on, and 3 BRs remaining, the rest of the month... So I'll be done with the month 1-2 days early, and will probably just continue with the first week of July before branching off into my own stuff...

Took a lazy day today and watched YouTube for like 6hrs, then finished a book and read another... Barely feels like I took a lazy day, except I only read like 500-600 pages instead of 800-1000...

Breaking out of patters is a nice change of pace...

But at the same time, as many BRa as I schedule, I need to be reading like 750 pages/day average to finish them all... So completely skipping a day means reading 25 pages extra every other day of the month, or finding 1-2 books to cut... Which is hard when 90% of what I read is long running series... I try to drop series starters or final entries, when I have to, so I don't feel the need to start over again in a few years to make it to the end next time...

I could always ask Nirkatze to delay/reschedule, but I tend to avoid that for some reason, even tho it's an option plenty of other people use... More likely to add in a delay if the series is split into trilogies and/or the next round of books haven't been officially scheduled yet...
