Yay internet!
Then I spent 40min cleaning windows.
🤣
Cause I'm always taking shots of outside.
My area is totally newish development. I feel like anything under 15 years is new. Have all sorts of animals coming and going looking for food, etc. 2 kinds of deer herds, red foxes, rabbits, bunch of birds, super fat and loud (he was like a screeching cat-racoon) squirrels and etc.

I wish I had that. I'd totally leave food out for everyone after looking up what's best for each :D
I used to leave out bird food for all the song birds and had to stop when a flock of pigeons made their home near by. Not because I object to them - they ate a whole bird feeder of food in like 10 minutes. It was just too expensive to keep full for everyone else.

I'm happy to see them come and go as luck passes. It's too tricky to feed animals. Not necessarily a good thing for wild ones. And more than likely end up feeding squirrels. They need no help.
😆
I'm just surprised by the active scenes here cause there aren't large stretches of woodland here. Just small batches here and there. Enough for illusion of woody area in urban neighborhood.
I miss notifications so much... the discussions tab tides me over, but it doesn't seem to update with new (new) tags, if YOU comment in a tab before refreshing the Discussions tab, so you can easily miss replies when being excessively active like me today...
I actually found something on Help Page that helped me... I went on to my profile and it said "Last Active November 2024" (that might have been the last time I had to sign into the site...
Signed out and back in, and new notifications are working... like your comment and someone's in the Firebrand #2 thread triggered notifications...
Seems to maybe be a wonky Goodreads thing that's manually fixable... so annoying that I've been doing without for 3 days...

I don't even know anymore...
But... usually when GR breaks, I need to wait for GR to fix... this is the first time I can think of where literally logging out and back in was a legitimate fix...

It would only be annoying if I was having large dinner parties. Which I'm not hosting for now, so I went with designs that make me happy when I use the plate, cup, etc.

I bought a few assorted plates when I moved in, but maybe I should do something similar (especially at the rate my clumsy ass goes through glasses...). My rare guests probably wouldn't mind mismatched dishes (hell, they would fight over the "coolest" plate xD).
Yay to having dish sets that make you happy :)

There's a tall table & 2 tall chairs in the kitchenette. When I sit on the chair/stool, the table comes to my chest. So, in an oddly mismatched way, food doesn't have to go far to reach my mouth, but I probably look like a kid sitting at the "grown up" table.
LOL Cracks me up every day when I use the kitchenette.
There's an office in the house, but the WiFi is the weakest in that room and the views aren't as nice. So, I'm always opting for better views whether eating or working. XD

LOL
Prime position for efficient food vacuuming ;)

There's a tall table ..."
LOL I actually love it when my tables are just a tad too high. Makes eating less messy xD

LOL
I never have that luxury... most tables feel like being at the kids table as an adult...
Half the time, these days, I sit down to do the dishes... less stress on my back, having to bend over nearly 90 degrees to reach sink/etc...

I exaggerate a bit... but also sinks are even lower than the countertop, by nature...
And I AM 6'4ish...
And I AM 6'4ish...

Pretty much everything was renovated & redone by the owners and it's distinctly done in a manner to be comfortable for someone 6'. Not my 5'2". LOL
The only thing that doesn't really fit that is the dining table set & couch in living room. But I feel like that had more to do with cheap & reliable than sticking with the height changes to all the counters in kitchen/bathroom, etc.
Most places are definitely build for shorter people... makes sense when you want your place to appeal to the largest amount of people possible...
It's generally custom-build places / renovated places, that cater to taller/even shorter people, since then it's about personal preference...

That's pretty tall!
In my head , 6’3/4 is where normal tallness ends and notable/basketball player tallness starts… but shoe sole can make me another 1+ inch taller, especially something thick-soled like Hokas…
As I just mentioned in my competition team thread, I need people to remind me to write reviews, so maybe I don't fall 500 behind this year...
My idea is to badger me a bit at the beginning of each month, to stay on top of the previous month's reviews... I also added a checkbox/column to my sheet this year (more like made an existing column perform double duty), to easily track which books I've rated/reviewed on Goodreads...
As I told my team, just say something like "When you gonna write them January reviews, Iain?"
I keep meaning to spend an hour doing the last 2 weeks worth... I did one burst through the 7th, I think, then went heavily into reading mode right after and doubled my book count for the year to date...

You should try to write reviews at least once per month but I bet weekly would be best for you. Pile ups are the worst! Cause going back to figure out what you read when is another time eater.
I've been doing weekly updates in GG&G so far, this year, which will be useful for writing more stuff on my actual reviews...
That's another thing I fail to do after a few weeks each year, tho...

Ditto that--I was doing really well until June last year, still trying to catch up on reviews... Been doing well so far but we're only halfway through January... So I'm adding myself to the "hey, how are your reviews coming?" poke list... we can bug each other, Iain...

Hey Iain, you write those reviews yet??? ;)
Amyiw, who pushed me to write something, said I didn't even need to write as much as I did... just writing "4 stars" as a "review" is good enough for her... the point is GR doesn't include friend book ratings with 0 text in the notification/front page feed... and she wants to see my/all her friend's ratings/reviews...

But yeah, the changes to book page and how info is shown kinda sucks.

I've switched over to Heretical Fishing 2. A little cozy fishing sounds good right now.

My favorite aspect of the books is the 1 chapter (per book), where Gretchen decides to fill in for the buttoned up government agent character POV :D

Enjoy!

Enjoy!"
Oh damn! That's a great lineup! I gotta check that out.

WooHoo! Keep it up!
I even reviewed the book I finished today, right after checking it off on the spreadsheet... then I can truly use that "set to today" button, for once...

I think the next cozy-ish LitRPG/Cultivation series I'd recommend to you, and love to get some outside opinions on, is Terminate the Other World... there's 4 books now:
Arrival
A Glitch in the Protocols
Imperial Entanglements
Heart of the Machine
It's a Terminator LitRPG... MC glitches the system a bit and is a hero/dungeon hybrid, kinda like our favorite Cat Lady in Road Trip... she has fun animal/cyborg minions she recruits, which feels like all our cozy series... it's on the OP MC end of the spectrum, but the fun is in the creature plotting antics, miscommunications, and weird ways the system breaks down as the MC tries to understand the world and attain her goals (in my opinion)...
I'm planning to read book 4 soon, it only came out a month or so ago...

If you use Facebook, check your Meta Settings and Turn OFF EXTERNAL ACTIVITY TRACKING.
META default setting allows it to track everything on your phone/device and sell the info.
I found 2 years worth of apps & records. Had to manually check off to remove apps from tracking.
Then choose to Stop Tracking External Usage.
Dived into rabbit hole to check all other privacy and ad settings.
In Ad Audience lists, there's a bunch of entities that can add you to an ad list. Had to manually go into each one to click "Don't Allow".
Cautious upside, I have more friend posts showing up in my FB feed after spending 30min taking off permission to use my info and add my info to random ad lists.

Crabliness is next to Godliness...
Godspawn creature skin in creature collector game Siralim Ultimate...
Reminds me of the crabs in Heretical Fishing, and questions about Carcinization Theory in relation to Roshar / Stormlight Archives:

I'm about 25% in to Heretical Fishing 2 and it's been highly entertaining. (view spoiler)
Pretty much... I love all the puns/cultivators/critters... I like LitRPG critters in general, since Threadbare...
